Nothing else for me. Season closes a week from tomorrow. May try again tomorrow evening, otherwose next Friday and Saturday will likepy be it. Friday evening and Saturday morning and evening. Seen a roadkill on way to work this morning, blood was still wet. Thought about it
Did you find your bolt? Were do you think you hit? With that distance, I'm thinking liver also. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Have never got a picture of him spring/summer. First/earliest picture we think was him was in September 2019. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Was wondering if he lived close and maybe a high quality mineral supplement would crank up his rack even more.
He should be 6 or 7 years old this year. Might be on the decline or max out this year. Double drop tine is the ultimate goal. A guy can only hope. His core is shrinking to our area for sure. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Well, crazy morning. Three skippers came in while it was dark and stayed. Then as shooting time arrived a very small Fork with a broken left side came in and pushed the skippers out. A big nanny Doe came in. Then another nanny Doe with a skipper. All within 20yds. Then there was a Doe parade, 8-10 deer at about 70yds. The 4pt which I now know is actually a 6pt from my cell camera was here at 0530. If he comes back this afternoon I'll shoot him. Looks like hes all that's left for Bucks. I believe the bigger Bucks have all shed. My older kids and their friends are hunting 20 miles from here and also have no bigger Bucks on camera. We have lots of cameras. So the only logical conclusion is that the big boys have shed.
One thing is for certain, you have a trail laid out in the snow right now that tells you where he is going to and from. Need a drone to follow that trail he is on, or throw caution to the wind with season over and put boots on it.
Out with my oldest for the last afternoon of the youth season. Sitting on a big G & F food plot on a piece of public. This is the spot my middle son and I bunped three deer off of yesterday as we scouted it on our way out.
Just had something blow about 150 yards away. Not directly downwind, but sounded like it got our scent trail from the walk in.. oh well, that was the one 30* cone of wind direction where it was iffy. Need something to come from in front of us.
I've been up for my last sit in NJ on this trip. . Dont expect anything till 445 or later but I'm here. Been lots of action at this stand but need antlers.
It is 10 degrees colder than yesterday, blue bird skies, high barometric pressure. PM major 12:40 - 3:40. Where are the deer?
I found my bolt. It’s shattered and the nock is missing. I must have hit her shoulder. I trailed her this morning for a total of at least 600 - 700 yards. I never found her but it was just specs at the end and she never laid down. Not the ending I wanted but it happens.
