3 hrs to get in and set up. Had a great entrance to my original spot but 0 travel or feed sign. So I pushed the limit I am in the middle of this hell hole. This place is a mandatory stand and sticks spot for me next year. This pic doesn't do it justice as there are sticker things all over.
Yah I took a hard pass on today . I did get out for 5 hours of wood lot work with A.J.. I found exactly where the buck have been. Rubs everywhere. A. J and I spent the day pushing over dead tree saplings. The " slashings" are no more. It's now a more open woods thatI need to make some decisions on.. the woods floor literally looks like mnt st Helens. I have many more dead ones that wouldn't push over so I'll go in and cut them. I need to decide on how much floor to clean up and get a open area in the center prepped. There are many bad split trees I will be hinging Not only to let in more light but to produce food. This area for all the buck sign has zero food other than maple leaf litter. The scattered red oak did not produce this year and only a few black locust had pods.
Also here’s a pro tip…if you drop your opened Havalon in heavy leaf litter, DON’T use a raking motion through the leaves… And, if you do, and you get the bleeding stopped quick enough, you just might be able to avoid a stitch or two.
