I'm out. Caught a couple guys walking through the edge of the property and let them know they were trespassing. At first they argued it. Turned out to be a couple nice fellas hunting the adjacent lot. Told em to keep it over there then. Knuckle heads. To top it off, one of em is a cop. I swear some things never change around here.
Tell the cop the next time he comes over uninvited, he better have a warrant, otherwise he is a guilty of trespassing. I have a great respect for law enforcement that does the job right. I despise those who abuse the trust they are given with the badge.
I agree. They were pretty shook up when I caught em, but they were just walking through. They knew what they were doing. I let them know next time it's a problem. I personally know who gave them permission over there and I have no problem letting him know about it. People around here think they can do whatever when there's deer involved. Crazy.
I can be out miles deep on public land but stay inside the boundary markers or what my GPS is telling me..even after the season when scouting. I want to slap myself sometimes bc it drives me crazy if I even walk 5 feet on someone's property.
Integrity is what separates good from excellent. You sir are excellent! The good Lord has put some special people on earth. He also put plenty of special ED people here to just to keep us honest! Your only as good as the value seen when no one's looking!
No luck on my buck just little pin drops of blood then nothing going to look again in the morning after I hunt but I think it’s just a flesh wound couldn’t have been much of the bullet left after it dead centered the tree Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm up for the evening. Nice cold hour walk in. Snuggled up in a cozy little swamp right next to a major road. Sweet hum of car tires for next few hours. Facing a nasty tangle thicket with a cattail marsh behind me. Lots of little green grass shoots coming up in the cattails, looks like a food plot. Deer tracks all over it. Let's go! I don't think I mentioned that I drove 3 hours to get here and realized an important piece of gear was missing. I left my tree stand. How did I forget that? Anyway, I'm slumming it in a summit climber that my niece had sitting around. God bless her deer hunting heart.
I only sat morning. Sticking to the tresspassing theme. While sitting out this morning, I see a game camera hung on a tree that seems to mark the corner of 4 lots, 1 being mine. Since I just had my land surveyed last year and the tree is wrapped with flagging still. Though the camera is pointed at my land. I figure we will be having a chat soon...if you have a problem with tresspassers, talk to me. I spun the camera about 45 degrees on the tree.
1 fox, 1 racoon and exactly zero deer. Oh well. Been that kind of year and this may have been my last hunt for the season.
Last 5 minutes had 2 doe come in right in the middle of that pic I posted earlier. 15 yard shot and I missed. Gave her a hair cut. Watched her walk away, didn't know what happened.
