Thanks, I'm at the house getting gear and Gator. To be honest on a couple of points. I wasn't expecting to see anything. Also I must range that stand to blind and from blind 6 x's a year so I know it's exactly 108yrds. Then that is old reliable one stand, so I've ranged every tree around it hundreds of times. I undersold the distant by 5 yrds...lol Once I manage to get a deer in range I'm actually a good shot. I also do not like them to run away after so my eye goes right to shoulder . Raining so better get a move on it's in the 50's today. P.S. 3 in. Breneke they are dead on and there wasn't much drop in that shot.
Auhhgggg...pouring out. Just ranged it 4 X's ....133yrds. Thats what 40+ years shooting the same gun and ammo can do.. Why I rarely take the scoped rifle out
Congratulations OND. You sure put in the time and effort. I am glad you rewarded yourself with a tasty deer. DMEN - you can make a great euro mount out of that skull. I'll bet if you peroxide it it'll turn nice and white. If not, tape the antlers and teeth, you can spray paint it white or any color you choose.
Found out today that my target buck was killed two weeks ago during gun season almost 10 miles from my lease. Time to put those thoughts away and move on. I feel sorry for the next buck that gives me an opportunity! The before and after. He broke off the dagger beam on the left side. 167 with the broke off dangger. probably 6 more inches he was carrying.
I've actually taken many deer between 100 and 120yrds most through and through shoulder shots. What people think is wild, she's a modified smooth bore 20g. In my 20's when I first got her I couldn't hit the broad side of a barn with her. Then it clicked, I learned EXACTLY how to "seed" that bead on the ridge vent. My neighbor calls me one shot...lol
