    I’m back in the stand, hunting a new stand I hung to kill a buck that ghosted me. Hopefully he or another decide to show face. Got the bow and .308, two doe tags and a buck tag. Shots will be fired!

    I just had the bow then I read your speech and grabbed the gun too :usa: . I had a couple big bucks give me the slip last time out, I’m not gonna make that mistake again. I’d rather kill with my bow but I’ll put the .308 to work.

    Well, I'm up but not real optimistic. Have seen 1 buck older than 1.5 yo and he has not been on cam since the night before rifle season.

    Do have does running by the cams so hopefully there is something around

    I'm up and what a crazy hunt this has been already. Think I've seen 10 or 11 deer so far. I've climbed my 3rd tree and shot at one deer at about 2:00. I hit her, but had a deflected arrow and hit back of her front leg. Watched her for about 5 minutes and she moved off with the herd. So I moved a again farther in. Jumped a deer then had 3 more does run past me while I was moving. Almost had a shot at 10 yards. Now I'm in the spot I want to be. This screams big buck!

    I can smell a buck! Has to be within 75 yards, because past that is water. Think it's the first time this year I smelled one from the stand. This could get interesting!
