Working at home today, but looks like the rut has finally arrived here....half rack showed up in the back yard, rubbed the heck out of a cedar, loitering trying to catch the scent of a doe looking for love.[IMG]

Sissy!? I got 2 mics and they don't like feedback. Wassup? Why don't you go outside and practice falling down! I'll be there in a minute.

So I had an interesting morning… I went hunting with a friend … saw a doe pretty quick at 70 she gave me an open shot but I just couldn’t tell her size so I let her go…

then at about 8:15 I see what looks like a half rack 8… he gets within 20 yards and I see antler on the other side that runs down the side of his face… I could have killed him easily but I chose not to… he walks towards my friend .. I hear BOOM… he hasn’t answered one text and he finally answers that yes he shot it…

Anyway, here is the buck.. the body was the size of a button buck or 1 1/2 year old do… when gutting it, it only had one lung and it was small… it’s bizarre….

I asked him why he shot it and he said it’ll be a cool euro mount…and it will be… I shoulda shot it… lol…

No interest in shooting another doe?
If I get slow at work and can swing a long weekend, I may drive down and try to take one or two. Although it’ll be weird not having a buck tag on me, never just targeted does.

Tony, it may have been hit by car the yr before. He survived on a collapsed lung. His body developed due to that.

The odd rack happens when something like happens.

I may. I killed 2 does and 2 bucks. So i have enough meat for myself. Although one of my bucks went bad. Its definitely not over for me as far as getting out. I was just talking to a buddy about borrowing a camera arm so i could try to film for another buddy. Ive never filmed before other than with my phone. I have a nikon d5500 dslr but no good high zoom just the standard lens.

I’m back in Ohio for another long weekend. I’ve been on stand for about 30 minutes just waiting on some action. Good PM Shift!
