Gonna be in the stand about 2pm. Set until something dies or until dark. Good Luck, everyone!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Decent doe sightings. Real slow on the bucks the last 6 weeks. But I was able to take a doe and a buck so that's good.
Raining. Gonna get in the stand and set up a tree umbrella. Be in by 330. Supposed to lighten up from 415 to end of shooting time. Gonna give it a shot. Maybe the Bucks will move the last hour.
In the stand. Everything is very quiet do to the overnight rain. Creek is 3/4 bank full, didn’t think it rained that much. Hoping for some movement this evening. Good Luck, everyone!! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I'm in and hunting. This is a strange set up. It's that 5min pinch point kinda spot. It is 40yds from the driveway. Across the driveway there is a hillside where just about all the deer come from in the afternoon. On the other side of the driveway the deer are pinched down to about 50yds of woods. They then cross the driveway to where I am. They usually walk up an old logging road for 20yds and then split onto one of two trails on their way to the corn. That split is 20yds in front of me. Over the years I've seen many a Buck start their journey up this 20yds of logging road and they were always out of range by 40yds. Saw a 130" Buck this year do it. So it looks rediculous but here we go!
I’m set up for the afternoon. I sat here some last year. I didn’t even bother looking for sign on the way in. I’ll just do the usual: Sit, observe, adjust. It’s like looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack here.
A doe and 3 fawns so far. At least their moving early. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I doubt it. If I see anything I expect it to be around 4:00 - dark. I’m the only one at the cabin and it was boring so I figured why not get here early.
I am up. Got in about 2:30. Sitting a bedding thicket where bucks tend to cruise. Bumped six does about 200 yards north of me on the way in. They ran the opposite direction of me, never smelled me, just saw me. I will stick one if they come back. I was approached by a young man in the marines at parking. He was coming into this spot as well, didn’t want to walk where I was going. Polite guy, he went in about 150 yards past me. I showed him a some scrapes on a major trail that led into the area he went. Told him since he was polite enough to ask what I was doing, I would wait for him at the parking and help him drag it out if he needs it.
Not as much foliage drop as I thought there would be. Shots are going to be close 20 or less in every direction.
OMG, I just killed a perfect 10 pointer, he had me pinned down for a good half hour. I’m shaking so bad I could hardly type this.
