Not sure if there any spots close to you, but there are some state WMAs that are arhcery only all season. I have a few spots saved in Huntstand as places to scout. Never been to them since LC’s camp is in the National Forest.

We have some within 30mins. Several actually. I hunted one two times this year but late. I'll look at a map and see if there are any food sources close. Ty for your post...woke my post rut brain up.

its an area within the place ..... a few of our state park hunts are bow only .. there also may be a few of the smaller preserves/game bird mgt. areas, Conservation areas etc. that are bow only, some may be no stands left unattended areas also . many are run by the larger FWA's .. ....

Now there is a trophy! The old banded doe. If you shoot her, you have to put the "band" on your lanyard! Haha

That collar looks tight enough to be cutting off circulation. You should probably put her out of her misery.

I was just told a story of a big buck killed in northern pa by a hunter that was banded by game commission. I was told the band was that tight that hunter could gear the deer struggling breathing as it came closer.

From what I understand the game commission wS trying to catch up with the buck to loosen the collar. No need now but hunter did get to keep collar for mount.
Just a story I was told not sure of truth behind it but came from a somewhat reputable source.

Just did some asking around. Apparently she got loose of a goat pen about mile and a half NE of where this was taken. Duh. Deer dont belong in a pen. Hope the collar doesnt get too tight like you guys mentioned

Stumbled on 2 other good finds in the 6000+ pics i had to sift through. Wind, coons and squirrels you can all go to Haties! Haha.

Have a giant 7/8 pt.? need to get better look at brows if he has them. I had pics of him earlier then got him confused with another smaller 7 pt. This one is young though maybe 3.5 judging by body. Hope he makes it. B0B00583-CD7F-42F8-8BE9-DF8A89D76B10.jpeg 6B372065-1ECC-4332-9194-63559B4B7DA1.jpeg

Sounds like a lot of folks haven’t been seeing much in the way of deer movement lately. It’s been the same everywhere from what I’ve heard. It looks like I picked a good time to take a few days off and sit in my recliner.

I bought my Arkansas tag today. I’m loaded up and I’ll be headed to Wattensaw WMA tomorrow morning for a few days of public land hunting.

I should be in a tree there tomorrow afternoon.
