I’m back out for the weekend. Busted by a small 8 this morning. Wind was right, but he was on higher ground. Thermals must have pushed my scent to em.
Deer are surely hunkered down after last week’s gun fest. Found a big fresh rubline and scrapes that were not here a week ago.
New bruiser get pushed over here perhaps??

I’m back on stand for the afternoon sit. I didn’t see a deer this morning so it has to be better this afternoon.

I'm tied in. Waiting on deer. Balmy 57 and sunshine. Nothing came off the hill for me yesterday, hopefully today. Good luck whoever is out.

Im headed out now to adjust a few cameras. Theyve all gone cold so im going to pull afew and get them on food sources. Just hung a couple right behind my house because the neighbor sent me this today. He was walking his dog at about 8am and this Bruiser was just strutting through the hood like he owned it. Super massive and wide. Pics arent the best but you can see the mass in first pic and width of his frame in second. Went on a walk and found fresh scrape and about 15 willow saplings that were shredded today. Going to try to get my buddy permission to hunt the fields right next to us. Hes a good one. 06A04D23-614B-4459-9B6C-73648FC2BC2F.png 3B186F55-2DDF-48C4-8503-0EEA2FDD51DB.png

Good luck guys...I'm in. The lights, mail box , temp end enclosure on green house and general.pick up has me exhausted. Of course 3 sets of lights checked before putting away not working and the blue led icles to add to others turns out to be white' the "rolling " of my eyes, just picture a slot machine at this point...lol. Out in morning before the rain. SSE winds. I'm thinking I'm going to sit up against a big oak on other side of gully where those doe entered our place today. That would give me a great broad side shot with the Browning. Also keep me out of a cold breeze...that should be in my face

The places I've hunted have always had poor hunting this time of the year. No crop fields and a month of gun pressure. And by the end of the season, 10 weeks of solid gun pressure in Virginia. Maybe Missouri will be different, but I'm not counting on it with the places I'm hunting.

yup, I like late season, our gun ends tomorrow. I'll start again and try for a Doe starting next Fri/Sat. ... we do have a 2 wk ML season that starts Sat., I'll stick to the bow only area at that time and hope the weather dosnt get to nasty, what snow we had is now gone ..

Nothing for me, but did get eventful the last hour. Had 10 turkeys fly up around me. Saw an unknown deer, assume a small BB or spike , at 120yds. Then saw a big Buck at about 150yds moving across the hillside above me but angling up. Grunted at him but he didnt pay attention. Then saw an 8pt at about 80yds with 15min left, but he went away from me as well. Was a fun sit. See what tomorrow brings.
