You gotta buy Dan Infalt's Swamp buck/Marsh buck DVDs.. I bet you he beds right in the swamp where people aren't going to walk through water, and watches you and other hunters.

Got to say I've gone out at mid night to track deer. Gutting with a flashlight in my mouth. To lift my head and have a circle of glowing eyes watching me. It doesn't take long for them to be found. Oh making noise did not move any of them. A tad scary. Without a weapon other than a cutting knife. I'd go get her. Got a sled? Love my cheap plastic sled

So last night right at close two deer shot out of the pine bedding like they had rockets strapped to their backs. Too dark to see what through the hedge row brush. I'm dressed and headed out into 20's with a very stiff WNW wind. Flag is straight out to side. Last chance before Saturday gun season opens. 3 wks then late bow/muzzle for I think a week then another Christmas to new years season
    Good luck guys

Years before camp became over grown in buck thorn the entire hill side was open grassland. We would have drivers down the hill and watchers/shooters on top.
Oh man they are smart the old ones. You could watch the racks go down and the buck flatten them selves waiting for the guys to pass as they kicked up doe and younger deer. Then they'd get up and slink away in the opposite direction. Sometimes the guys would look up hill to see one of us waving and pointing. Sometimes we had walkie talkies. No cell phones back then.

I might have to take coffee to the stand this morning. It's 24 ish out there and I'm hoping to catch a certain buck on a certain trail headed back toward his bedding area. I only have about a 200 yard walk, but I'm going in soon, so I'll be out there in all that dark and all that cold for a bit before day break. Good luck anybody who's out.

    You too!
It was a crunchy walk in. The wind and low temperatures had the trees popping as well

Good luck to all. My hunting here in Ohio has come to a close. Sorry I couldn't give you guys a nice Ohio brute to look at and talk about. My back definitely has something wrong with it. I'm going into ER here in an hour or so. Really wish I was LFTS right now, but I'm live from the bed instead.

Dang man. Hope it isn't serious and you're back in the woods soon. Bummer about Ohio. I feel your pain.

Saw quite a few deer on the drive in. Got situated in my spot and the wind was blowing pretty good on me so I moved about 150east in the hill. It's helped some but I have a very small window for deer movement. I need to get a camera down here it does look like there are some decent trails but I don't know when they are coming through. Good luck with the doctors. I truly sympathize!

I had a great ortho earlier in the year, who like me, was not in a hurry to surgery. I have deterioration of several discs & had intense pain that radiated from my back to my finger tips earlier this year - I was able to do PT and able to resolve my last back/neck issue. An initial round of steroids and weeks of nsaids, also helped as I build strength.

I just heard th loudest cat fight ever. If I didn't actually see them in the distance I wouldn't have known what those sounds were. Weird.
