No bed. Just stops. I was 14 up, she was 21-22 yards.

I have run down deer like a yote in the past. Getting old for that

I'd go get her. Snow on top of the blood is tough to track.

    One little buck for me.

School is canceled for tomorrow!...so I'll be up early to hunt!

No snow. Yotes have been hit and miss.

Open woods would make this easier. Spot light ahead. I have never been on hands and knees getting. through crap.

Gonna eat dinner and have a beer . Let this really ruminate . Wife says go go go.lol

You were on the trail and seen the shot. Go with your gut instinct, it's usually right. Does make it easy, all about the meat recovery, whereas bucks bring the headgear into play. Dead tonight, dead in the morning. Rest up for the drag out or sleep in after the drag out.

    you're welcome!

    I think that’s a dead deer, but can’t argue cls74’s logic.

I have yet to drag from where I think she is. For years this was an opening that I had planned for a food plot or fruit trees. Buckthorn has changed that....for now. Wind blown trees has not helped.

Enjoyable. Hahaha. If she is where I think...nothing enjoyable. Just won't get turned around.

With everything down from the snow, can't see familiar landmarks and I have been here 30 years.

Needle in a haystack, he's survived this long for a reason. Need to hunt where no one has ever tried to hunt because it is too thick and nasty, he's going to die of old age at this point. Showing up around the same time, not sure of proximity of the pics to each other though.

If not this year, make your move for this time next year. Some of the best "big buck" target stories often start off with "he would show up at the same time every year, but never during the day" until.....

He’s living on public 600-700yds from our place. Heavily pressured but has somehow made it.

He showed up on our place on the 6th last year. Disappeared and then showed up on the 19th/20th.

That makes it even better in a sense, better than saying he's on private I have no access to, anyway.

I've never had a target buck. Hell, I've never seen a mature buck from stand that I had pics of.

I'm almost glad I've never had a buck to be obsessed with. Can't imagine how much I would spend trying to locate him

With blood spray, I'm saying dead deer. I would be out there tonight to get her. No way I'm leaving it with chance, no matter where I live. Just my opinion.

I’m obsessed until I see a 100”+ then I’m done. I’m hunting 52 acres. Neighbor has 40. Connected to like 700 acres of prime swamp public.

He just loves our area during the rut. Last year would have been my year for him but I was in the wrong spot. Chasing does around 7am. Otherwise he’s just moving through at 3-5am now.

Jake, that buck is just insane! I believe that could easily be a 200" deer. Unbelievable! We're he's living, it's so hard to tell. You really need a lot more Intel. Be it other sightings, trail cam pics from other people, sheds, a tall tale from the local bar, anything to get Intel. During this time of year it's not hard for a buck to be 10 miles from his home range.

I had a buck like this one year. Got random pics right in my back yard. Then heard a story about a guy hunting a property next door missing a monster buck. So started to dig in a little to see what I could find and found nothing. Next year I got pics of him again almost same time as year before. Then found out he was shot 6 hours after I got pics of him. He was shot over 2 miles away. He just did a lot of traveling for the rut. Reason I could never find anything, because he didn't live anywhere close.

MN - that is an absolute beast! Do you have a deep desire to focus a pursuit of him?

Things are good here in SW Michigan. The cold weather we are having right now is awesome. There is standing corn around. I really want to hunt there when they are combining. Last year's December was so warm I dint think I ever hunted in snow. I love sitting on the edge of a field with snow camo. Deer simply do not register snow camo as danger. Fun. How you doing?
