Beans to the North getting cut. Field is about 800 yards to my north. Hoping they come out to eat early tonight Sent from my SM-G990U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
Did you guys here abouts the mink that were let looses by animal rights group? Most ran for highway and they had to call out a plow truck to get them off the road Good job folks! Geez
Ahhhh...the melodious sounds of a leaf blower at the neighbors. Such a soothing serenade. Of course they were the landscapers last stop of the day. Dammit
Deer don't care. But I agree it's an annoying. Neighbor half mile away has the one on wheels. Runs the thing about 15 hours each fall.
Got a 6 pt working circles on the neighbors property. He's getting closer The devil in my shoulder is yelling SHOOT IT!
I had to google the story, as I knew it would be humorous reading...lets just say, there are about 10,000 mink (as of early morning) on the loose somewhere in Ohio. SMH!
The only buck I'm interested in here made an appearance out of range at 520. He's bigger than I thought but wouldn't turn for a grunt. Stayed out at 40 yards where I couldn't shoot. Odds are pretty low he'll do that again tomorrow but I'll be 20 yards closer regardless.
I can't buck hunt again until the 23rd. Have a feeling a lot of these properties are gonna turn into a ghost town at that point. I love it.
Close, but not on our property. I used to know them but the owner died and the place is in a trust, so no clue who to ask for permission. Time marches on. If he is as close as I think and he takes that route again...well. That route makes perfect sense too. I was just of by 10 to 15 yards.
I only have 1 Pic of him from September. Not the best angle, but look at where his ears are to the antler.
Crisis averted. Shot a doe. She was slight quartering to. I shot low. About heart low. I tracked about 100 yards before backing out. She is in the thickest nastiest stuff I got. On my hands and knees getting thru the buckthorn that is bent over from snow. Deciding if I will got back out in about 4 hours (6 hours after shot) or wait till morning. Blood is light in the first pic but about 3-3.5 feet across. 2nd pic about 50 yards out. Last is about 100 where she did an abrupt direction change. Pics loaded in reverse
So, I'm going to make dinner (par cooked ribs if you must know) while you all make up my mind when to go back out. Lol
Did she bed at all? The abrupt change could be her final death run Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
How high were you? How far away was she? Creamy or crunchy peanutbutter? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Tough call, but temps are definitely on your side. If threat of new snow is low to none, I would let her lay. If predators are thick might be best to track sooner than later. Will be an easier track in the snow, if you lose blood that will tell the unfortunate story of a clot up muscle/brisket hit. Good luck in the recovery either way.
