Back in my stand for hrs afternoon. 3 1/2 hours until dark. Saw 5 different bucks this morning. One decent one full on chasing a doe and never quite came in range. This guy read the script and waltzed right by me. He will be a good one in a couple of years. My activity posting has slowed down because my fingers are either in my pockets or gloves most of the time.
I climbed into a stand for the afternoon, and before I can get set up, I heard a buck grunting and coming my way. I had to rush to get my release on and I was shaking like a leaf. Turned out to be a big six pointer, and I had em dead to rights at 20 yards but I let him pass. If it wasn’t my first day, I would’ve killed him. What an awesome encounter, hope I don’t regret it
I'm up for what might be my last early season bow hunt. While I was in MI yesterday (seeing no bucks), the buck I want to take out of the herd here was on cam an hour before dark and on another this morning. Have to work tomorrow but then I'm off until the 28th. Would be nice to finally put some meat in the freezer.
Haven't gone through all pages...congrats in a advance and good luck to those out. Last night was a very rough one that started at 1 :40 a.m. alarm got turned off and morning was a hot 2 hour soak in tub. Every thing started cramping from neck to toes. Man took pills and drank a ton too. Daughter is coming in as bit to drop off her new pup. So I'm grand pup sitting...it snowed today just a dusting. BTW This gave me time to pick up computer,"TV" room....found my original tags I had to replace. Flush that 10.00 ...lol Wow she just called problem at work got her off track now not dropping pup off ,not spending night and not stopping in until tomorrow. ...this season geeez! BTW 2nd death heart attack in 3mos on job ...vaccines required not old ppl...
Electrolytes, if you got ‘em, better get some in , cause you may have another drag coming up… Ps Meh saw you were already out with the tracker… Good luck!
It’s been a good afternoon so far. Doe, fawn, 4 point, small 8 point and 19 turkeys. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Did a hang and hunt. Sitting down an hour late. Farmer opened up the north end of the cornfield and said lots of crop damage by this oak/hickory grove. Never hunted back here because so hard to get to with standing crops. Seems like I scented up the place badly. If I get an opportunity I'll be amazed!
