Same here. I’ve shot deer in our field and watched deer raise their head and continue to graze 150yds away. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That's a cull buck. I need to make a trip to New York next season. Either that or you guys need to make a road trip to Missouri and bring @Fix along with you.
My Gosh what a night. Not for me but a good buddy of mine. I Put him right in that stand where i was this morning. Long story short. He rattled. Had a giant buck come in and he derailed his string while drawn back on this buck. We havent seen him intil now. This pic was from neighbor.
Well, @cantexian headed home after his all day sit today. At least now someone besides me knows what a great spot "my valley" is. With all of the forum guys gone, it's just me, my brother and my nephew and it's gone from a Bowhunting.com camp to our family camp. It was really great meeting @virginiashadow this past week, and it was great having @Ridgerunner3 here again. At least this time everyone saw deer and Adam actually killed one. He went home with a heavy cooler despite only killing one deer. It's a shame that @S.McArthur couldn't make it again this year. If I had my way I'd pack up and head home tomorrow, but the family camp is centered around gun season so I'll be heading out tomorrow morning with my 45-70 to see if I can take down one of these public land bucks. When this gun hunt is over I'm going to take some down time. I may put in a couple of sits on my home place but I won't get serious again until after Thanksgiving.
We did. One of the best parts for me was when Eric, Shane, Greg and I were blood trailing the doe I shot. Multiple people on a blood trail is fun, but when you have a "beer b****" with backpack full of beer along it is just a blast. The absolute best part of this trip so far was when I got a text from Adam saying "arrow launched". My brother was pretty amused at me being so excited about someone else shooting a deer.
I agree with this, aside from deer I have shot at. Yet a few times(namely my first deer ever) it has startled them to a stop and then walled off from inside 15yds. I deleted the video after my 2011 kill, but I had video of 2 fawns feeding on a hillside 35yds out of me as my uncle and his friend sighted in rifles 60yds away preparing for MO rifle season trip. 11/14/2010, at one point one of them walked towards where they were shooting and I thought about shooting it to see if it would run past them blood pumping out. No freaking way though. They would flinch at each shot, but never spooked. Think I flinched right along with them. After they were done shooting they started walking the path towards my way and seen me, waved and turned around. When I got back up to the house he apologized and thought ai was back on NW corner(killed my first mature buck there following year). I told him there was no way in hell I was moving from that stand that day. Was the first big buck I had ever seen, turned the grunt tube into a kazoo The buck that forever changed my hunting goals
I’m up heading out the door going to be warm today but we’ll see how it goes good luck everyone Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Lets Go! Same wind as yesterday about 15 degrees colder though. Do i hunt the same stand my buddy had the giant come into yesterday evening? Which is same i hunted yesterday morning? Or make a new setup somewhere we havent hunted yet that should be good about now?
Driving to our spot. Rain stops at 0530, we will be sitting by then. Shooting time 0615. Should be a great morning, been raining hard for about 20hrs.
Coffee down and will be heading out in about 20 minutes. Good luck out there this morning. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
