Winds got way too wild and I bailed. Up in the oaks where there is very little wind an I can hear them a mile away. Coming in. Besides camp has acorns.

Hah, you caught me mid- edit, but I've been in MI and WI. Oh, and early season AZ. Forgot about that. Did see 4 nice mulies but they were appx 200 yds out and walking away. No chance to catch before dark.
I couldn’t take it anymore. I climbed down about two hours ago and went scouting. No sign anywhere in these woods. Not sure where they are at but it’s definitely not here. Heading home to get some sleep eat study some maps and game plan. Rumor has it team six just grabbed another 50 points… Good luck everyone
Ok, so last night dog trails right to these 3 deer, they are just across a bailed ditch in CRP. Back out head home. Try to sleep. About midnight we wake up with my 2 year old is respiratory distress from RSV. She's belly breathing hard, retracting, in a lot of trouble. Mild cough the day before. I throw her into my truck and run her into my ER, get nebs and steroids, she did really well but needed oxygen most of the night, my wife came in after my mom could go over to watch our son. Scary as hell. It's easy for me when it's other people's kids, man hard to stay objective on your own. My team did great with her. Brought her home about 5, dozed off for an hour, then woke up to get get my buck. Found him right to where the dog tracked, still alive and had crossed to the sheltered side of the ditch. Put one in him, then a second. I was about 10 ft away, and the tough SOB stood up. I hightailed it to the truck, but he just laid down and expired. Got him gutted, one lung and liver was the initial shot, goes to show what you think you saw is often not correct. 630 yds. Glad we didn't bump him last night. Swung him into my truck with the hitch hanger, got home, got him hanging. 35 degrees here, gonna let him hang overnight. Gonna sleep for a few hours and head to work, got another doc to cover til 3. Might be a rough night. Quite the last 17 hours. Thanks for all the support gang! Gonna have to figure out how to score those .... Sent from my SM-G996U using Tapatalk
