Thanks I had to go back in two months ago and get more blood work and eye exams as the symptoms returned. Blood showed the crap was back. 2 months straight of antibiotics as of now. Finally showing signs of healing.

That great! With taking antibiotics for that long you might want to consider taking some probiotics too.

Not much excitement in the elk woods this weekend.
Elk aren't being vocal at all yet. We hiked our ***** off and threw out a lot of prospecting bugles, zero responses.
I talked with a few other hunters and they all said the same thing...they just aren't being vocal.
Also had a Game Warden come into camp and check us, first time in my 18 years in the area, nice to see. Real nice guy. He said he hadn't checked hardly any elk so far this season. Hopefully the switch will flip by next weekend.
Also hoping the air clears up by next weekend. Saturday a wind change brought a ton of smoke into the area. AQI is still currently 190. Nasty.
One of my favorite spots got logged since last year, the area they clearcut was heavy timber bedding area. Pretty bummed, it was a great spot for us.

And sorry VS, I didn't take any pics this weekend. Too gung-ho to be elk hunting this first weekend.

A lot of wolves up in your hunting area?

Friends of mine got into elk a number of times, last week in CO (draw unit). But couldn't close the deal...1 had a shot on a cow, but couldn't find her. Figured it was a non lethal hit.

I can take some criticism so if you think I was in the wrong you can say so. 6 target outdoor range. 3 of us are spaced out shooting between 20 and 30 yds out. Some dude walks in behind us, in a lane, and starts shooting at a homemade target 40 yds behind us. He has full access to walk forward and at least have some lane integrity. Other 2 guys left. I looked at the guy and asked him why he was doing that and that I don't want to get shot. He told me it won't happen. I told him that's not good enough. He huffy and puffs and throws his stuff in his car and starts toward me on the range. Looking for a little Missouri throw down with his gold teeth and tats I guess. I didn't pay him any mind until he got within 20 yds of me. Goes on to tell me it's an 80yd range and if he wanted to shoot from 80 he could, even with us in front and the park ranger told him it's ok. I told him the park ranger is an idiot and everyone throws shots every now and then. I asked him why he didn't just walk forward to shoot with us if he was only form shooting at 20 yds.....dumb blank stare. Lazy ahole

Lol. Just threw me for a loop that he wouldn't just take 20 seconds to walk up and meet us on somewhat loose, yet safe shooting line. Tells me he can shoot a 9 inch pie plate from over 100 yds away. I told him Im an average shot and have been shooting a long time, and still pull shots when I least expect it. He just stood there and stood by his shooting prowess as what would have protected me from an arrow in my back.

Nah, man. No way I'd been comfy with that either, VS. Some folks just do stuff and think nobody can tell them what to do no matter what. More and more folks like that these days it seems. Lack of common sense and lack of mutual respect is at an all time high.

How would you feel if you didn't say anything, then a arrow went by you, or stuck in you. You did the right thing. He was upset because he knew he was wrong and didn't want to admit it.

Back in stand. Currently setup in a pinch before the beans where the big buck came out on Saturday evening. Wind is good. Fresh tracks here and rubs on some trees. Hopefully he does it again. 20220912_170600.jpeg

Same thinking should go into an archery as firearm range. Safety first! RO should enforce.

I liked how one range down in GA was setup...staggered target (distances) everyone shot from the same line...

For 3d or multi target scenarios I like having spacing and safe shooting directions to avoid errant shots, ricochet or other safety concerns...**** happens.
