What I thought was deer chasing down in the valley, turned out to be a couple big coyotes. They zoomed by at 20 yards, but there was no shot opportunity.
Could have shot but I was afraid it was a button buck Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Should be a great day for midday activity with the full moon. I saw so many deer on my drive here, figured it was going to be a slow morning
Saw my first legal buck in a tree stand. 60 yards. Stopped and looked when I grunted. Kept moving. Yes I would of sent an arrow. Wide 8 pt. 18/19 wide. Real nice pa mountain buck
I think that actually means 4% chance they are right … Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I think I'm going to go vote quickly and be back for the "moon under" time. One spike so far. I was expecting more.
Well so far nothing, except the neighbor trying to sneak through his property to the west of me. Not sure what he’s trying to do but the wind is at his back and in the deers favor…. Hopefully he kicks something up and it comes by me. Other than that my hunt may be over sooner than later. At least I now know why the movement has been so crappy back here and possibly everywhere else if they are walking all over there property.
Maybe he's going out for a midday hunt. Sounds like he's going in backwards though. I know quite a few people who sleep in when the moon is full and get on stand about 9:00 or 10:00. I just can't bring myself to pass up that first hour of daylight, especially during the rut. (Says the guy who didn't go out this morning and is sitting in his warm travel trailer.)
I know we all like cold weather for hunting, but when those first rays of sun begin heating you up it feels so good. Lol
