Saw a deer running at 80… another one was chasing but stopped and is milling around… can’t identify yet

To be honest when I'm going in as early as you did this morning I don't even try to be quiet hunting here in a huge National Forest. The way I see it, when I'm walking in an hour before first light any deer I walk into close to my stand wouldn't be there in an hour anyway, and there is no "being quiet" walking through the leaves on the forest floor.

I just kick it into high gear and get on the stand as quickly as possible. I think that while we may believe we're being stealthy, those jokers know we are there. It's the deer that are going to be there in an hour that we're really after anyway.

I know it's different for other locations, but here you just can't be stealthy.

I’m up, the good thing about it being windy is I could pretty much zip right in here without making any noise… good luck everyone

As soon as I sit down I here a deer coming. 4pt. He get to about 15yds and starts getting nervous but not enough to run of the little bastard turns around and starts walking away blowing the whole time. I might not be so forgiving if he comes back through. Might as well take a nap.FFS IMG_20221108_065821.jpg

Just noticed this burlap sack hanging 25 yards from my blind. This property owner is a fun dude...should be an interesting explanation.

I sit here 20 minutes to shooting light, and I hope for a big buck on my first sit,but at the same time I don’t want to shoot a buck on my first sit knowing there are some great hunting days ahead.

Talk about nerve racking, I wanted some action and I got it. About 30-40 yds a tree just fell over. I think my drawers are still clean.

No back on that ridge that runs out SW from there. Talk about anticlimactic. Never saw anything and still haven't.

You and your wife must eat a lot of deer meat! That’s awesome. I know about 4 deer in the freezer is pushing it for me then i have to start giving away. Wife eats like a bird and i have a teenager and two little kids that dont eat much. Probably 80% of the meat comes out of my rear end all said and done. Such a healthy option though.

Gotcha. Too bad the wind is wrong for the saddle I want to put you in. I'll bet you a 30 pack you'd have seen him from there.

Just had a spike at 32 behind some brush, would have been and antlerless tag, but he didn’t step out to give me a shot. A six point cruside by just inside at thicket at 60. Tried calling, he ignored me, looked like he was on a doe trail.
