Got it done on the first day of rutcation!!! Really looks like you smoked him! HAHAHA I couldn’t resist
Congrats Tony on popping the cherry on your own property!! Is this the first buck since your accident?
Drew a bunch of blood a while ago, just drilled it!... Literally drill slipped and right through the edge of my thumb, blood squirting everywhere... Lol hurts like hell! I think I scared hubby when I got to the house drenched in blood . Putting new hurricane straps on the green house. I'll have to catch up but congrats in advance to all the killers out there . I'll be out in the morning...tad sore at the moment to want to hunt. It displaced a bit of meat for sure. That said I left a hell of a blood trail..hahahaha
1 year ago today I was in this stand. It was the first time in because I won’t go in until November and the wind is right. Last year I ended up taking High & Tight a 161” 12 point that I hadn’t had pictures of in a couple of weeks. Picture is from last year. This is my first time in this stand this year. It sure would be nice to see something close to him. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Thanks everyone… the drag thing was tongue in cheek as I drove the UTV right up to it Jeff, this is the first buck I’ve killed since my tree stand accident 2 years ago… you are correct… that fall is getting further and further in my memory banks Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Congrats @alenhard15 on the child I hope you all are well and getting some rhythm trying to figure out the new addition, it gets easier I promise. Keep plenty of beer stocked up at the house haha. @LittleChief congrats on the double and congrats @Tony on the buck kill! Prob missed some stuff if I did congrats to you killers! I was running on 1hr of sleep for 36hrs, hunted last evening once we got settled. Saw a pile of deer, no shooters close enough. This am saw a BIG one at 200yds, 3 younger bucks and a handful of doe. I’m up for the evening, good luck out there all!
Found a card i thought i lost about a week ago. These 2 are a little full of themselves guess ill refer to them as Abercrombie and Fitch. . They literally gave me about 30 pics right in front of the camera like this. They were part of the big bachelor group i had on camera in Sept. Way to many to post them all but one of these might make the cover on playbuck magazine.
My view for this afternoon at 40 feet up. Good luck PM killers. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I can't make this up. LC and I are out putting up his climber in a spot we haven't hunted but it looks promising for does. As soon as he get the retention strap on we hear that sound of a deer (doe/fawn) running. It's bounding straight for that tree and veers at the last second away to a stop about 20 yds away. So here we are, both locked up in the woods with a deer staring at us for about 30 sec before bounding away. The luck of some people.
Wow, what a toad. Very nice mass. Definitely older deer. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Good luck PM shift!!! I'm still writing this effing paper. I'll be out in the am for a few hours then gotta go to see my mom. she's jealous that I've been seeing my dad quite a bit hunting but haven't gone to the house to see her, LOL! (Its about an additional 20 minutes to the north).
Setup. 2 good I’ll boys to my south one with an Xbow the other a muzzle loader. Talked to them as they were headed in where I was gonna sit at the stream/pond. Plan b, at the bottom of a nice ridge, old fire road below me. A big oak laying across the lane 40 to my south… a lot of tracks around this pinch. 76 degrees 98% humidity.
