As I sit here staring at this paper that is due this evening, these are my thoughts: My E-bike isn't totally "useless".... It DID get me down there and back out, which my fat ass can't do without it.... It wasn't convenient or like riding a quad.... It took about the same amount of time as walking did because I have to go a mile plus out of my way because the main trail is impassible on anything other than 2 feet...... But I did get down there......... Coming back out was brutal, and I probably need to walk it a bit more.... the urge to vomit didn't last long... Pain is temporary, antlers are forever.... Am I trying to hit the easy button again by saying I "can't" get down there? Am I justifying and preparing myself for failure because my mind is telling me not to put in the hard work? Yeah...I'll be going deep this upcoming week. e-bike is recharging as we speak!!
I’m out bumped one on the way out not sure what it was just saw a tail won’t be back out this evening good luck to all the pm killers Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Well my morning ended on a high note for someone else. The guys I thought were from St Louis are actually all the way from South Carolina. They normally hunt near Kirksville Mo, but decide to shorten the drive to Southeast MO. One of the guys scored a 9 pointer this morning and I got to at least help track 1. Ha ha, been hunting this area for 4 years and never saw anything close to this except this morning. Congrats to him, and I forgot to get pics! Sorry Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I can't imagine what you go through each year, but if it is half as hard as you've described, it's harder than most deal with. If any of this was easy, it wouldn't be near as fun though.
You may have mentioned it before but what kind of bike do you have? Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
LOL! But seriously, this one. I probably should have went with one that had bigger tires for the terrain I deal with, but with my balance issues I was hesitant and went with a step through for when i fall.
I'm interested because I just got word that my Bobcat UTV may have permanently died. If that's the case, an ebike is one avenue I'm exploring. BTW does that first bike in your response come with a matching wig? Because if it does, that would probably seal the deal for me! Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
Good news is i got pics of a buck we call the turkey claw buck. He was mixed in with the group of bucks the day i shot high on the “unidentified” buck. It was so thick i couldnt say for sure which one i did hit. Although his body was exposed i couldnt see his head all the way. This either tells me i did hit the one with the split g2 or this one lived. He looks okay if i did hit him.
Congrats @Tony ! I'm down. Just a fork for me this morning. I'll be sitting most of the day tomorrow. Good luck PM shift!
I'm out. When I pulled out of the parking lot there was a doe bedded right in the field. Had a very nice buck just standing there watching her. This was 200 yards or more from the woods. I also saw them when I drove in this morning in the dark. So they were standing there for at least 7 hours. Crazy Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Congrats Tony. Really special taking a deer on your own ground. Wind is 50+here. Started strong about 8:00. I got out at 8:30. Would have stayed longer but froze out. Had a (new) buck come by at 12 yards about 5 minutes in. He's a 6x4. Looked like a 3, ,aybe 4 year old. Gave me a chip shot but I passed. Them I found out my camp cat followed me, climbed up with me. Second time he's learned to fly! Little bastard went and layed on that gray log about 5 feet from the scrape and stayed there. Then a purdy nice 120ish 4x4 came, was walking to the scrape, seen the cat, turned n blew outta there. That was all other then 2 bucks chasing a doe across the river. Fun but cold/windy sit. Nap time.
Yeah, but ain't nothing like the reward of dragging out a buck you just nailed from your own property!!!!!
