Haven’t heard from him this morning, so I’d assume that she had the baby sometime late last night. Hopefully…that’s a long time to be in labor!

    Congrats Jake. Nice buck.
I've not seen a deer and have only heard 4 shots (same person)
It calm, 20* and mn opener.
So strange. 2o years ago, it was 100 shots per hour opening morning.

Depends on who’s tag we put on it. If I use my buck tag I can only bow hunt does. Could use the GF brothers tag since he’s out here with me but I likely won’t do that. Want to get him on a buck today yet.

I'm out, didnt see anything here. Bucks are still in bachelor's groups eating like it was summer. No rut here yet. Except I did have an 8pt on camera dogging a Doe on October 2 and 4, must have been an early heat.

Looks like a great buck. I figured you'd get one today with the rifle.

Had a fawn come in and had a rainbow glowing at the same time. She ended up bedding down 40 yards from me. When the rain started I wanted to sneak to my box blind. So, I shot my junk arrow by her. She jumped up and finally went around the corner where my blind is. I climbed into my blind, opened all the 20221105_082936.jpg windows, killed a mouse, and sit down. Looking to my south she is bedded down 40 yards away - oblivious! Limited shot options. Very high winds and raining - but still going to sit out here for a couple more hours.

It feels surreal that I even shot. Im still in bow hunting mode and my brain almost told me “he’s too far” when in reality he was maybe 70yds.

42 hours in 4 days couldn’t get it done but takes an hour with the rifle. Super happy but bitter sweet.

I’ll have better pics when I get out of the stand here in a while.
