Heading in. Have to hang my stand in a not so fun tree, so that's fun. Wet and 40 degrees. Now it feels like a hunting day and something is gonna die.

Been up since 0615. Bumped one to my left and one to my right on the way in. And when I got to the tree there was something out in front of me but think that was a coyote from the yipping a few minutes later. Wind is good for me. 55 dergrees. Turkeys and grouse are moving. Come on rut!!!!

I'm up. Let's see what the morning brings. Decent winds and wet leaves..head on a swivel.

Remember a Nov 5th story from maybe 8 to 9 years ago. Place I wanted to hunt got a lot of pressure so I looked over a map and picked a spot. Sun up comes and hear what sounds like a guy setting up his tree stand. Raking the tree...then sounds of like a 2 x 4 hitting a tree coming toward me. 40 yds and angling a big woods giant. Widest buck still to this day ive ever seen and he is mad as hell. I picked a great spot!....but had no back cover like a moron. I grunted to him and here he comes right at me. 25 yds and is dead straight on. No shot. He wouldn't leave semi cover and then slowly backed up and walked off. 2 minutes of time I will never forget.

Ok, Chief that does it! I may have to take you up on your offer from a few years ago and join you at Mark Twain’s! I have all the stuff for my camp, so I can just pitch my tent near you. You are having too much fun, and I am struggling again this year. You guys all need to get a pic together before it is over!

I’ve been up for a bit… just got blown at about 10 times. First time in a while that’s happened. Not a promising start this morning.

It's the same. Finally had that appointment. Ultrasound shows very clear rotator cuff tear. I'm being sent for a more thorough MRI scan. Then hopefully platelet injections to avoid surgery. If the PRP works then I should be back to my bow by next season. If not then I'll end up having surgery in March or April and will be cutting it close for next season.

Set up with my son on public for youth rifle season. I have my bow just in case, but he gets shooting priority. Just got legal light.

This is where I had the encounter with the doe last week. This area is usually better in the PM but getting up late and the way the wind is it was my best option. giving it until 1030 then off to the gunsmith and to look for .35mm bullets. IMG_20221105_080656.jpg
