We sometimes see what we want to see. My non kill this year I swore I seen blood on impact. Could have been a slice through the hide creating the contrast looking luke blood but was only a flesh wound at best.

I have never passed through lung and had a clean arrow, single or double/near side or off side, arrow always had sign. I've shot through brisket and straps and always had some sort of sign on arrow.

    Jackrabbit don't count!:whip:

    Kidding LC, good job!

I've been using EverCalm for years now. It really does calm deer down!.
I'm super meticulous about scent control.
Today, about 40 yards before I got to my stand, I put a smear on the sole of each boot.
Had 4 young bucks cut my track. All 4 backtracked the scent but one 2.5 year old turned around and sciffered it out.
He came back super slow and sniffed every blade of grass/twig I brushed against.
It was really cool to watch him from 20 yards all the way untill he hit the rungs of my ladderstand.
He looked TOTALLY bewildered when he couldn't figger it out.
I was thinking of spitting on him but didn't.

Watching him take every step, licking his nose and sniffing/licking everything I brushed against was really fun to watch.
    He never acted spooked.

Bad service out here. Can barely use my phone. 3 days into my ky hunting trip. Loads of deer but no shooters yet. Here is a doe peeing in a scrape in front of me yesterday. I will catch up in here once I can. 20221103_074009.jpeg 20221104_101951.jpeg

Alright @LittleChief, what kinda set up was that with you and the doe hanging from the tree. That is what I want. Having to park on public just off the road and the drag out intact isn't something I want. Wanted to hang a permanent snatch block set up at my uncles just for gutting and maybe some predator hunting as well. Not sure if that is a permanent get up you use year after year or set up every visit there.

All it is is a heavy duty S-hook, a pulley, the right amount of 1/2" nylon braid rope and a gambrel. I bring it every year and just use my climber to climb the tree, use a length of rope tied in a loop to make a larks head around a branch, hook the S-hook on it, hang the pulley and thread the rope through. Simple.

We do use a truck or a four wheeler to raise and lower it though. Work smarter, not harder.

Yes. Yes it did. I was pretty busy until about an hour ago and then I spent some time talking to my nephew and his wife who showed up at camp this afternoon.

I can't thank Brett and my son Greg enough for doing a ton of the hard work for me. We had a little trouble finding the first doe even though I saw her go down. She must have managed to get back up and go a little farther. This was compounded by the fact that as soon as we got down Greg was really feeling the call of nature. As he said it, he had a "turtlehead". We had to run back to camp (no crapping in a good stand location). By the time we all got back to the scene of the crime it was totally dark, cloudy and disorienting.

The little one was lit up with a Nocturnal sticking up in the air so it was easy to find

Brett and Greg did all of the dragging for me. When we got back to camp we were rushing trying to get them all done before the storm front got here. We it done with about an hour to spare.

I am so tired right now. I haven't been sleeping very well. This afternoon I was having trouble keeping my eyes open until the deer showed up. I'm going to do my best to sleep in tomorrow morning since I'm taking tomorrow off. I'll probably take a few days off. Maybe a week.

True, but what I didn't have was another tag......

I could have tripled easily. I sure didn't want to though.

I do the same thing with EverCalm - it seems to work for me and even if it doesnt, it makes me feel better about my hunt lol

Nothing for me tonight. i couldnt buy a buck sighting if i wanted to right now - they seem to have fallen off the face of this earth. unlike @MnHunterr ! man, thats a hell of a night! you're gonna get into a mature buck this season.
