Even if I don’t that’s A OK. It’s been one of the best hunts I can remember. Have never seen this many mature deer in a sit before. Just blessed to be out here soaking it all in.

I'm back home, since I still have some work to do at my actual job. As I was slipping in, I had a small 6 at about 20 yards. He spotted me eventually, but couldn't figure it out and continued on his way. That was all I saw, but at least I was there for a bit and had some action. Love seeing them from the ground!

Hour to go. So far all I've seen is a grouse. But it's been a beautiful afternoon. Feels like late September.

A lovely day to sit in a tree. Good luck ya'll.

Tomorrow seems unhuntable. I'll hunt in the wind, but sustained winds of 25+ seems...seems too high? Maybe try my only box blind?

I'm taking the 8th off from teaching. Wind is looking good to sit where ivr seen several nice bucks.

Greg - congratulations on first bow buck!

The hunt you describe today is the hunt we wait on all year. The adrenaline you mentioned means you have this in your blood like most of us here. So pumped for you to get an experience like this. The best hunts dont always produce a kill. Sounds like you are on the X! Good luck. I bet you put an arrow in a big one soon

Trying to come up with game plan for tomorrow. SW wind, low 70s. The warmer temps will bring hikers out which could/probably influence doe/buck movement in my deep spot. A large swamp resides at the top of heart break ridge. It could work out that the does will be in the cooler swamps, which would mean the bucks are as well. I could be surrounded by deer tomorrow, or potentially ruin the spot for my upcoming rutcation week.... Not sure what to do

The thing is… I think the best is yet to come. I’ll be in here with my rifle tomorrow. Extreme winds sunday so won’t hunt go visit my brother and relatives from Texas. Try to get back out next week when I can but after taking 4 days off will need to catch up on a lot of work. Definitely won’t be able to do both morning and evening hunts.

Now is not the time to think about busting a spot… Now is the time to get into your best spots. Especially if you think the does will be there.

IMO 1 sit will not ruin a spot. Even if you do bump deer out of it. If it’s a good spot, they will be back in there.

Just thinking about this… I’ve sat in the same stand for 42 hours the last 4 days haha. The absolute definition of over hunting a stand, but I knew days like today were possible so just did a full send. Have been Knocking on their bedroom door for 4 days and they finally answered.
