I didn't realize that was his first buck with a bow. He definitely needs to keep the antlers. Hopefully, he can without burning his tag.

I get that. But I dream of shooting a 170" deer. Can't do that if you shoot them at this age. . Idk, I'm already second guessing myself.

One lone doe since all of the chaos. Had some snack sticks and black pepper triscuits for my snack and a little caffeine. Back in the game.

Just really really wish I had my damn face mask. This is uncomfortable as hell but it works I guess.

Finally set up for the afternoon in the climber. Probably waisting my time because the wind is blowing in every direction. My climber looks like a clothes line I got my coat and shirt draped over the rail I'm standing here with no shirt on trying to dry off. I did kick up a doe on the walk in so there's that.

That's one thing I like about some of the Sitka tops, integrated face mask and hood. When its warm, or I forget, its there. When its cold, and I've brought a balaclava, an extra layer...

This jacket plus extra layers. Only thing I’ve got on under this is the first lite furnace base layer + their smaller vest. My chest is bowing out cause I’m sitting, not cause of how much I’m wearing haha.

Ice fishing I’m bundled to the max with base layers and another jacket under this.

Front is moving through here. Was tying down my mower on the trailer (taking it back to NC) and a cold blast of wind hit me as it started raining a bit. Thank god. Might be too little too late for my hunting here. Tomorrow morning looks like all I'm going to get before headed to Camp Slay in the Ozarks.

Normally I don’t wear a face mask either but on my 3rd all day sit looking into a 10mph N wind my skin is not liking it one bit. Already wind burnt + brisk north wind = No bueno.

Yeah he was just cruising along. I was paying attention to a doe to movement to my NW with my binos, let down look over and he’s 60 straight north. Went right under the tree the guy with the climber was in.

We finally got in touch with the warden. I explained the situation to him and he sent Greg a tag for the 4 point.

We just got back from cutting the antlers off.
Here is the goofball with his antlers from his first bow buck, and he can still shoot a buck.
