Good luck everyone. I'm headed to the doc today, finally, for my shoulder injury of late Summer. Should be in a tree with the crossbow Friday and Saturday afternoon and Sunday morning. Cant wait, I havent been able to get out much and still bummed about my October 1 non recovery.

 

Good luck out there this morning. The warm weather must be really suppressing the deer movement. Usually, a lot of bucks die the first 3 - 4 days of November.

 

I'll be hunting in Ohio starting Saturday, November 12th through Sunday November 20th. Looks like the temps will be dropping at just the right time!

 

I’ll be in my spot by 7 I’m in no hurry to hike up the mountain. Going to try rattling again this morning after a bit. Deer seemed to respond to it yesterday though the wrong deer. Good luck AM crew. Kill, harvest, sacrifice or whatever you call it…..catch one.

 

I'm in the blind! Hour-ish til shooting light, but it's super foggy. There was a dead 140" at the entrance to my neighborhood this morning on the way out here...

Running late due to a last second change of plans to hopefully sit all day. Food, water, Halloween candy, caffeine, nicotine, and battery pack.

Cameras have been dead recently but we need to grind. Tomorrow looks incredible weather wise. Will be sitting all day for sure.

Entrance was good until I got to my stand that's when anything that could make noise did. Bumped something before I got here it was still to dark to tell what it was

Good luck AM shift!!!

I'm in the office all day, then school till 10 tonight. I'm finally gonna go be out tomorrow morning till noonish, then try to bang out a few more pages of my paper. Can't remember if I said this or not but I'm off all next week from my internship and school to hunt. KILL!!!

 

Oh yeah. Definitely sounds mature by their grunts.

I would really Listen to the trackers opinion. Call a couple of them and get their take. They see alot of deer hits and have a good idea on if its mortally wounded or not. By what you described i dont think that deer will die quick if he does at all. Sounds like a part of your arrow is in him. If he does die from that it may take weeks or month. The deer i just tracked for a couple days i only did because of all the evidence. I knew that deer was dead. (Liver blood/lung blood/ a Lot of blood/ huge blood soaked bed. The first buck i shot this year was bigger than the one i just killed and i knew being a marginal shot he had high chance of survival. I looked for him a couple different times but i didnt kill myself trying Especially after 3 trackers told me same thing. On the deer i just found. 2 trackers told me “that deer is dead” on the one i just found. All im saying is analyze the evidence. Im not saying not to look or pursuade you either way but If it seems like a bad hit dont kill yourself searching when the odds are low. Look at your evidence

Only 6” of bolt in him. (That could still kill if in the right spot).

i just think the evidence shows a higher probability that deer will survive or may take a long time to die.
Only you can decide what to do. Good luck either way! I hope the odds are wrong. Doesnt hurt to look a little more but dont kill yourself and definitely get back in the saddle if you dont find him. He may come back around or maybe even a bigger one!
