    That worries me too. I was thinking maybe the speed of the devil bow may be enough to give it a bit more energy to get through there. All I know is that I hope the shot killed. If the head stayed intact there is always a chance. The way that broken half was stuck in the ground is almost like the buck stumbled over, stuck it in the ground and broke it off. Just my .02 cents from the keyboard in my kitchen.

    Checked my cams and boy did I miss out the last week and a half. Being too cautious and not going in further likely cost me a buck. So many daylight pictures of numerous bucks the entire week before Halloween.

    None the last few days though.

    Hoping Jim hit the inside of the shoulder. The arrow breaks and blows through the deer a little low and on the far side, leaving what we see now.

    And im not saying this isnt true. Im sure it is. But bucks just started aggressive fighting didnt they? How would a deer fight to the death and decompose so fast? Maybe the other deer was already dead? Probably not. Maggots can make quick work of a skull i know. There is a ton of nasty hide hanging off in the one pic. Imagine having that stinky thing on your head haha
    This probably belongs in another thread but thought if any of you having a slow day its a good read

    I had a small buck last year here.
    He had a turkey impaled in his rack.
    Got lots of pics of it and thought it was apiece of black fabric.
    He had it from Sept into late December.
    I wasn't real popular with the does. Lol
