Guys, about 40 minutes ago I shot what I think may be the biggest buck I've ever shot. I have found the arrow, which is broken off about 6 inches up. So I don't know if the broadhead is still in him or what. There is sparse blood but I haven't looked but just a few yards and I'm not going to yet. Right now I'm very concerned and frustrated

    Let's go Jim!

I've been standing and scanning for 1.5 hrs. Nothing.

There was a loud crack at impact, so maybe shoulder. I don't know

Distance was 31yds. But remember, I shoot a crossbow so there should be plenty of energy

Is that a bolt or an arrow? Just wonder for length of penetration. Looks like it went in shoulder he ran and it broke off and landed like that.

31 yds isn’t anything to worry about, sending good vibes your way! You have allll day so just take your time and wait it out if it doesn’t feel right.

Does it look like you shot it into bone and the arrow compressed backwards before breaking? Like say you hit a metal target and the arrow mushrooms and whitens a bit?

Somehow, that arrow got 'pushed" into the ground?

If you’re shooting a crossbow I would assume it’s a shoulder hit with the loud crack and no pass through. Crazy that it didn’t go through though.

I'm marking the last blood, which is only about 20yds from the arrow. I'm going home and I'm going to come back in about 6 hours. I do not want to push this deer.
