typically, yes. if the sun isn't hitting it yet, thermals are dropping. A few minutes after the sun hits it, they'll start rising.
2nd day in a row seeing a shooting star. Just have to think that’s god sending a giant buck my way. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
There is some really good duck hunting in MO. Yes talking eating and cutting up with your buddies is a big part of it. I advise you stay away from it. Next thing you know you will have thousands of decoys a couple different boats, blinds and another dog or two. You’ve been warned. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just got settled in to a new spot not really seeing much these past few days the weather is not the best.
That buck was cruising. He walked by me in the dark at about 25-30 yards grunting every few seconds. That was pretty cool.
You can hear a mouse fart 50 ' away out here. The air is heavy in dew and it was a quiet walk in. Not an animal in sight nor sound.
Sitting in the dark and just listening to the woods wake up is such an underrated part of hunting. I hear things that I normally don’t during the day. Just a bit ago I’m positive the Blair witch was banging sticks together in the woods. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Just had a doe and two fawns move through. They were standing in exactly the same spot I shot the buck in last week. Maybe something with some calcium growths on its head will follow soon. Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
Nope! I get it. It really was no big deal. There has to be a line in the sand and like you said its not like it was impossible for me to go get my bow. Just a little more walking. I was happy to go get it! Thanks again Chief for moderating this contest. I doubt anyone could do better.
Hard core duck hunters can be a-holes. I used to consider myself one but i always tried to respect the deer hunters. If they are hardcore waterfowlers, born jerks, and dont deer hunt then they dont give a rats azz about you. Good luck VS you will figure that stuff out over there.
After a little rattling a spike came right to my tree and hung around for 10 minutes then left the same direction as the 4pt.
My neighbor once had a dog I considered a "barker" until I put 2 and 2 together. Yes, he did bark but it was at deer or the scent of deer. Once started barking it was time to get my hand on my bow...they were coming. I do miss that mutt. LOL
Good luck Josh! I'm starting to get daylight pics of 3.5 and 4.5 year old bucks on our farm in Ohio. I'll be back out on Friday afternoon.
Good luck y'all. I'll join the debauchery after work today. Just fired off my 2 week notice, so I'll need some tree stand therapy after the fallout from that. Gonna be a fun day! KILL!
