I understand that and I’m not arguing either, but I will not allow a dead head with no supporting pics to be counted. If the time comes where I am told to do so then someone else can take over.

That being said, Shocker has a ton of online post evidence and pics from the time he shot. He even has trail cam pics of the buck.

If he ends up posting pics of just him and the head, then at this point I would count it. I have simply been trying to get him to get the pics required by the rules to minimize potential blow-back on the forums, that’s all.

He did have that opportunity since he found the buck, returned to a place where he could get his bow and then gotten the pics. Yeah, it would have been an inconvenience but I sure would have done it if I wanted my buck to count.

I wish I could have given him more prompt answers but I was hunting and I can’t be on the forums all the time.

Completely agree, and by no means am I arguing with you.

Someone just shows up with a head or less and claiming a kill, I'd question it all day long until proven otherwise. How do you prove it at that point?

The point meant and I think it falls in line with what you were saying, if you have a picture of you and the deer but forgot the bow, a picture of you, bow and deer would suffice thw rack being the same.

I apologize, I'm nowhere where I need to be on Nov. 1st.

I knew months ago when I lost my hunting spot I should opt out for a year.

No need to apologize Clint. I understood your post for what it was.

Oh, and it would take an act of God for me to opt out of a season. There are always places to hunt. :tu:

this isn't judgement on you Holt, but he's got nothing to feel sick about- that was definitely a dead deer w/in a couple hours of being shot, and was likely dead in 20 minutes or even maybe less.

What the heck...I checked weather again for the morning underground has wind direction doing 180's every single hour. Thank heavens it's supposed to be light. I have not been near the oak bedding yet this year. With time of buck movement on top of property and general direction I think a hunt there my be good at the very least Intel as rut begins in earnest.

Don't even think that! Yeah public is vastly different but just takes a little adjustment in mind set!

Meaning you have to deal with others

I got’r done so there was no discrepancy. No biggie. My fat butt could afford the extra walk to the truck. Was only about 500yds from my truck. Its all good and posted! I did add an extra pic in there Chief to get a full view of the rack

I really appreciate it. What i lack in skill and smarts i try to make up for in persistence and doing the animal justice every time i go out. I couldnt save the meat but nature will eat. That saying is only acceptable to me once all efforts are exhausted. I was raised by a family of hunters who drilled ethics in my head pretty hard. I told my uncle today i was going out yet again. He waited at the truck for me and the tracker yesterday. His exact response was “Good, you owe it to that deer”. I knew i would have to call it quits sooner or later. This was actually going to be my last attempt at searching. I would have just hoped to stumble on him while shed or turkey hunting. Glad i can put a nail in this one. Good endings arent always perfect ones. I just hope this inspires people not to give up. Every deer is a trophy.

I will add too. Ive had a few celebration beers so im thinking out loud. Might be better to make a new thread but on the topic of calling in a dog. I still think i did right thing. But i do think on day 1 when i had 5 guys offer to come help me find him. We would have found him just grid searching. No regrets but it just the way the ball bounced.
