Doe is not big but it's convenient. I'm like 30 seconds from my house she slowly working this way not sure if an opportunity will present itself she's feeding on the trail I walked in on.
Well...I'm in a tree. In missouri. It's warm, but feels good to be back in some big buck territory. Potentially anyway.
Hard to imagine that deer is not dead with the blood and how the arrow looked. Crazy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I think the woods feels as though I'm a squirrel whisperer! I swear they follow me. It sound like 20 deer are running around in these leaves.
Doe busted me. Blew 4 or 5 times then bound off into the brush. I think a combination of me not being back against the tree all the way and the thermals dropping.
My son and I are here in Mark Twain National Forest. After a crazy day we got here late and barely had time to get our stands hung for tomorrow morning. Now we’ll set up a few things, relax and finish setting up camp tomorrow.
Give it another 10 minutes then head to the house to take my son out. I'm beat. 9 hrs in the stand today total.
Just realized I haven’t gotten a picture of a mature buck in this corner I’m at since 10/12… Granted the camera obviously doesn’t tell the whole story, I think it’s time to change it up. Will move my camera tomorrow after my morning sit and rip the stand down and figure out a plan for the afternoon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
5 does were within 25 yards of me and somehow never spooked nor winded me. They eased off. Before you ask, no I'm not shooting a doe and I never had a clear shot on a single one of them. Huge rub under me. Might be a big fella around. Edit Jeez I came off like a jerk above. Not my intent.
The fawns are still in the plot, the doe hasn’t shown up yet and they have always shown up together. My guess is she’s either being chased or in heat somewhere.
Not a deer in this field yet. The 8-10pt dogging does is cutting it close. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Shake it off, have fun. I've been there and it haunts you for awhile, but remember, it's just a deer. You'll get yours. Don't worry.
Alright, finally caught up. Just a heads up, don't send out any search parties. After my first day in Supervisor position I have come to realize my time on this thread will be limited through the weekdays, add in weak or no data on the public and I may be nonexistent for most the season. Will likely take me a few days to catch up on one day when things get how they get in here I'll eventually get caught up, so if I say congrats on Thursday for a buck killed on a Tuesday this will be why.
