I'm up in my climber in a new area.
Love the area and the sign, hate my tree but I was running out of time so here I sit, ready to kill a deer but probably won't.

Only damm tree I could get a climber in that wasn't wide open is right on top of this scrape

    No , it’s my 4th or 5th. Don’t mind the procedure, it’s the prep that’s not good.

Many males of various animal species take out their frustrations on sapplings.

Just had a huge 8 pt run a doe by me. He stopped perfect at 25 yards but a small tree was blocking. The next opening he ran thru. Then stopped at 40 in the open, but to far for a quick shoot. He was grunting the whole way and even stopped and snort weezed. Following was another nice buck. I'm shaking like a leaf right now! I'm out of light and going to sneak out now.

It is fitting that it is Halloween eve. All is dead here except deer. There is nothing happening?

Two does and a tiny fawn ran out of bedding to the fields. 40 yds. Nothing in tow.

St Charles area today. Hunted around that bedding 10 hrs over 3 hunts before I saw a deer today. Haha. At least I know that bedding area may draw some bucks now.

    That was a great night.
I had a fawn walk by. Later I saw a doe and fawn...followed by a tiny spike. A 1.5 yo 3x4 followed the spike, freshened a scrape and then those two put on a show for the next 20 minutes. Boy they had fun jumping around and fighting. Towards dark a decent 5x4 buck, I think different than the other 2 shooters I saw this week, chased a doe away from me. Fun and fun.

Well guys might have a bunch of bowhunting equipment for sale cheap. Not sure of yet another hit. It was a nice buck. Rattled and grunted him in he was fired up. Have a little bit of video of it. I think it was the big 8. He busted me right as i was squeezing and he started spinning. I think it may be back some but as he spun it made him quartering away. I either put it where it needed to be or im back. Either way i have to give him time. Im covered up in deer so will wait a little longer to get down and look for arrow. Will keep you all posted geez this is not my year if it was a bad hit. That would make 3 botched shots. Think i will have to hang the bow up for a minute if so.

Talked a Tom Turkey out of that green field in pic. Around a 10" beard. We talked for about a half hour then went quiet 20 mins. Later he came in purring and putting. Paced 5 yards next to stand. I couldn't get my phone out of pocket on that side. Then watched a deer don't know what walk up out of swamp bedding right to Rivers blind. Probably a fawn they seem to gravitate there. Clean walk out and that Tom roosted around 60 yards right behind my stand. Strange he was all alone.
I had time to think on those scrapes...I may wait until crossbow opens, grab my turkey chair and sit right inside the corn/ sorghum when the wind is right.. Hopefully I tag out before the 5th.
