Absolutely awesome morning so far!!! 6 does and a fork that has been pushing them around, closest the does got was 50 in some thick stuff fork chased them off and I’m not sure where they are at now… have about 45- an hour until I have to get down
Nothing shaking so far so i rattled a little. Forkie and doe came running in haha. Pretty cool. Ill try that again in a week and see if his big bubby comes in.
Good luck this morning. It is raining off and and on all day. Still recovering from an upper respiratory infection I have had since last week. Going to take my older biys to the rifle range later if it looks like the rain will let up, youth rifle is next weekend. Would have gone out if not for the weather and this lingering cold.
For once the bluejays were right. They were hammering for a couple minutes then 2 does popped out behind me out of range.
Local high school is 800 yards away across the street. They have a big cross country meet this morning. Been listen to their music on loud speaker for last 30 mins. First race starts in 7 mins. Maybe they will bump something my way, lol. Just hoping the music stops soon
Congrats Lucky and Bone. I got invited to a friends farm. Change of scenery is nice. Just came to full draw on a little 6, but the knot head would not look away at all. Never winded me just didn’t like my outline I guess. 30 yards but could not shoot! Ugghh!!!! Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
No hunt for me. 1:17, 2:26, 3:43, 4:30. Hubby whom fell asleep on the couch yells up at 5:00 are you going hunting? NO! I've not been to sleep yet. 5:30 or so I finally dozed off till 8:40. Almost out, then I'd move and a cramp would hit and I'd then have hit the potty. I didn't drink THAT much yesterday. Cramps well as I've said, sitting is rough on me. I had some long sits the last couple of days., I also drink electrolytes 2x's a day. Will be out this afternoon. After a nap...lol Good luck guys
Boy this is a good quick story for all. Went out duck hunting this morning. On the way in we broke the shear pin on the little outboard so we paddled the rest of the way to the blind. No big deal. We duck hunted. Shot 2 drake woodies again. Paddling out we were stopping periodically to put on posted signs on our property. 3rd stop in im about to jump out of the boat when I see a deer get up from a bed not 25 yards from me. I say deer and the 3 of us look. Next thing you know this deer is just coming up to us at a quick walk. He is panting and I could smell him from 10 yards away as we all stared at each other. Had a nice rack on his head too. After about a 10 second stare he just turned around and walked off. Needless to say I told them guys to grab some guns and paddle back up there and make some noise of another buck in the area. He was ready to go. I could see it in his eyes. Wish I could have got a video of this encounter as this is not something that happens very often. Hope one of them guys bags him. If they do I will go get pictures and post up their story. I already shot 2 bucks this year and am packing for my Ky trip so I want them to take a jab at killing one.
9:50 here and had a shooter go by. Got to 30 yards but to thick to shoot. Dang it! Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Small spike and small doe or button buck came by, they may be the first 2 I saw. Jakes here now. I rarely see turkeys up here
I did. He never stopped. Hoping he will circle back and check these scrapes on the edge of this field.
The pickle juice is for the salt I believe. I have a lot of salt in my diet. OH, If you haven't try REDMONDS REAL SALT, so good and they have 3 different smoked salts. I drink electrolytes regularly for the potassium and the magnesium. Magnesium is the best for them and normally take a supplement, which also BTW helps with sleep. I haven't been taking the supplement because I've been drinking g the electrolytes. An obvious mistake that will be adjusted. This Keto diet has me well versed on all that kind of stuff . Though I still worry that I could take too much of one thing . More plain water , less electrolytes, and back to the potassium and magnesium after dinner.
