I have to scout this place to know more. I know there are remote spots I could get to by Kayak and mountain bike. Off season.

Fog finally lifted maybe deer will start moving now? Was going to hunt till 1 but it's been pretty uneventful. 1 might become 11.

It’s tough time wise. I don’t take down/set up my stands/sticks every sit. Would have to take one down and set it up. Just not sure I can get off work that early. The stand I was in this morning is about 80yds from it, but I can’t actually see it.

I understand the time thing. But sometimes that little extra effort is all it takes to shoot the buck. Trust your gut and stick with it. Have confidence in the stand you will hunt tonight

Now that your really getting the travel patterns down, might be worth to invest in a couple stands just to make presets. Then just keep your lightest setup for run and gun when you need to make that last minute change.

Have only seen a 3 and 4pter in last 5 weeks. Gotta keep the faith. Pretty cool encounter a minute ago with a mini hawk. Flew within feet.

So much catching up. I was sure I'd see deer on the ground. back home no pics due to yes A.J. he will need to be crated in order for me to get out in the mornings.....
It was a cold morning but great sit. clean in and heard deer moving through in the dark then saw 2 Toms feeding down the hill a couple of hundred yrds away, shorter sit due to body schedule. Hhhmmm blinds will definitely keep me out longer...lol
There is a brand new rub 12 yrds right in front of the stand. and I did get a buck at the cam scrape, though not the one I watched walk through there. from tracks he walked the back side of the stand between the blind and stand. Though he also ,or maybe a bigger one, walked the plot area behind the house last night. The prints are deep and 3 fingers wide on firm ground. Will be back there tonight if the wind stays the same. The wind is due east right now the scrape and rub is north of me and the rub is opened due south.

PS.... a new CHEAP cam but really like the pics...lets see how long it lasts

Oh I saddle hunt also. But I don't see it as the best solution for all. I'm kind of the dark side of saddle hunter. I don't tell anyone and more of a hybrid hunter, stand/saddle combo now. I'm a outcast because I use both! Lol

i was out this morning, late but i was out. as i was getting ready to go across the road again, my phone rang, an older gentleman (80yrs young) father figure to me, Mine has past, he says "chris can you com help", his wife has slid out of bed and he cant get her up by himself. She has dementia, and some other health issues. i had to unthaw the trk to go help, get done headed back home, get everything gathered up again and hit the woods, as soon as i get to the ladder stand and take one step, i hear something look up and see 2 deer tails waving back at me.

    gonna go somewhere different tonight.

back at home now, ill be out this afternoon

congrats @Lady Forge , she is always laying a real nice buck down.

3.5 hrs of nothing on stand. Headed home to eat lunch with my wife. She has 4 days off in a row of work. Between last season and the beginning of this one, she has been working 60 hr weeks even on slow weeks. For a full year. She needs to rest!

Im out. Hung tight till the wind switched. Taking kids to finally get pumpkins after the little guy naps. Actually i think ill join him haha. Cool morning i heard what sounded like a couple grunts. Couldnt tell if it was or a tree creaking. As i was straining my ears to listen a huge buck roar bellowed out and a group of does scattered all around me. I still didnt see the buck. The does regrouped and took off. I rattled a little bit. Dont know if he came to the rattling or just gave up on being a Rico Suave but this little guy came right to me about 3 minutes later.
