Damnit just spooked a button, spike, and 4pt out of the field standing up/reaching for my rangefinder. Didn’t think they could see me. One blow and they bound off. Still early and at least it wasn’t a big one.

I blame @LittleChief he told me not to lower my standards which I was threatening to do.

For the record I said don’t lower them “too much”. Even I might not shoot that buck.

(Who am I kidding? You know I’d probably shoot that joker. Not you though.)

Missed a turkey a while ago. When I drew they scooted out and shot behind - got tail feathers.

Two bucks went by a stand 300 yards away
    9 inch spike
    And
    2.5 yo 8 point
I would have passed on them. Fun to see.

The deer are not coming out where they have been. My wind is very marginal where they are coming from. The biggest doe almost picked me off and that 4pt dogged her out of the field.

Probably won’t end well unless they start coming from their normal spot.

Ah, the dream… to be comfortable passing that knowing there are far bigger bucks around.

Well that's it boys. We tracked for two miles, most of the last of it just finding specks of blood. The one time we jumped him, he was a lot bigger than I thought. I'm still unsure about the hit because at first there wasn't hardly any blood. Then after about 75yds there was a lot. I lazered after the shot and it was only 26yds. I dont knnow if i rushed it or what. The deer was in one of my shooting lanes and was standing still. Here's some pics from the second part of the track. [IMG][IMG]

Damn coyote cleared the field again. Had him at 40 but I was too late. Would not stop. There were a ton of deer out there and he didn’t chase any of them so that’s good I guess.

No I said Their shot gun was functioning. The turkey apparently did what I thought and headed toward the upper corn field.. Have to admit the shot startled me. Not often do I find guys Turkey hunting up there.

Damn sorry to hear. That is a long track to not find a dead deer. I would think he would die but I have seen deer survive some pretty crazy blows.

Gotcha, I know how you and your phone combat each other. Wasn't sure if that should have read, the shotgun is functioning, as in you took a shot
