I'm not deer but turkey hunting. Have tonight and tomorrow only . I was prepping dinner and saw 3 nice toms a hundred yrds. from chicken coop blind .Decide shot gun only to find the safety broken and off. No way that was getting loaded. I pulled out the cross bow do to how low the coop windows are and how narrow it is 7x3'4".. great bow out under roof but tougher for me inside. I shoot a very long arrow. This is great for gun and crossbow though.
Lol it will just figure if a monster buck strolls through tonight, yep yes it will. Cross bow is only turkey legal right now. Then it gets put away again until the 5th , I believe,5th of Nov. Good Ole NYS.

Thank God he didn't turn this way. Would have been great pics but I'd be a raging you know what for many a day. I have a trail cam over there I'll have to pull the card tomorrow. Getting a good E morning wind for there. No sign of the turkey may have continued up the hill to next corn field.

I hunted a farm in Kentucky a few years ago where they had picked the corn and then tilled the stubble under. The deer were still out in the field every day eating corn.

    Well that’s good to know.

I am at the corn stand. Head on a swivel with the damp leaves. Cannot hear anything if they come from the bedding behind me.

I'd agree if I hadn't just started hunting in earnest. But that great encounter this a.m. and just to see there is a buck that size and traveling under my stands is great. NYS crossbow law is just plain stupid. For one thing if you are going to allow crossbow for fall turkey and turkey is in early bow then just allow it from fall turkey till the end of early bow. Geez Louise it's allowed just 1 wk later anyways! Hubby should be able to fix the shot gun. That's my turkey gun. My deer is my browning 20 and Remington 243..
I blew up one of those pic...I may have gotten a blurred distant pic of him coming up the hill just passing a tree.
