After a quick midday slip out to truck for apple and five hour energy I’m back up. All morning only thing to come by was two button bucks…and honestly almost shot the bigger one because an antlerless deer at this place earns me my reduction zone buck tag and would have two buck tags for certain properties. i didn’t though as I hate disturbing my place in the heart of pre rut activity and property use unless it has antlers.
Been lightly raining on and off since I got out of the stand this morning. Do I go back to the swamp or go back to the cut corn. Gut is telling me corn as long as it's there and not tilled under.
Set up for the evening. I had an encounter here last year while I was sitting on the ground a nice buck came from a direction I thought any deer wouldn't. I ended up getting busted. Brought the climber this time looking up at the bench.
Good luck Jim! Based upon those pictures and your earlier posts, sounds live one lung and liver/guts. It is a dead deer, just taking a while and being difficult. You will get it.
Thanks for the updates Jim! YOU GOT THIS!!!! Jake, Stay away from me and go to the corn! Good luck PM shift!
Good luck Jim. I just had a nap. You know the 20ft high almost wake up/lunge forward trestand nap. I see a big rub 30 yds away as this hill falls off.
Outstanding buck. Great job. Out for the evening hunt. East wind. South of where I saw the bucks Monday, but same treeline.
Good luck pm crew heading to my daughters softball game kill some biguns Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
