I had a buck chase a doe and fawn past me this morning. Shortly after day break. I heard the buck grunting before they showed. Saw doe and fawn, then the buck. Got ready for the buck, let the doe pass. Buck came out I drew, I couldn't tell if legal. His antlers were out to it's ears. Some what of a Big body, I let down and looked thru binos. Damn not legal. I had meh him to stop, he didnt like the situation and he left quickly. I look back up the corn field where the does went and nothing. I say cool encounter. A few minutes later here comes the doe and fawn and they are walking my way. I stand and get ready. She gets to 15 yards, lil quartering too. I aim for the exit spot and sent it. She turned and ran back the way she came. As she rounding a bend it looked like she was going to face plant . She went another 30 yards and died. As I was cleaning her out I saw a buck cruising about 60 yards to my west nothing big. Not sure if it was the same buck as before. Some more blood pics Thanks for all the congrats.
Friendly reminder, if you are buying points in Wyoming for a future hunt, point buying season closes at the end of the month. Just bought points for elk and antelope. Currently sitting at four and three, respectively. Points have to be bought every other year as a minimum, or the points are forfeited.
Pulled a chip from the mock scrape I made. Had one of my borderline shooters during daylight last Sunday. I didn't hunt because "it was too windy." He's a 10 with a kicker off his right G1. Young looking buck but he would be hard to pass.
Bunch of turkey came by. Gonna move 40 yds to where all those animals converged. I think a mature buck would bust me in this tree. Better cover needed.
Back home, phone died and nearly 6 hrs was enough for this morning. I have plans for going out tonight. .winds will dictate where.
Wind blowing off this high ridge steep drop off and bedding on the other side. Food between. Good front and back cover in case something comes right at me. Not sure why I can't post a pic but I'm 5yds from an old family burial site I found this summer. About to be another death up here tonight.
Very sorry for the lack of updates guys, but as you can imagine I've been preoccupied. Bottom line is right now I don't have the deer. BUT, I think I may be able to recover him. We jumped him from a bed three hours after the shot. That was actually the second bed we found. It was .8 miles from the point of impact. I say that I might be able to get him because when he jumped up and ran off, we had walked within 20yds of that spot 4 times. So that tells me he really didn't want to get up. When he ran off it wasn't very fast and he was running into things. So we left and I have driven more than an hour home to get my UTV. By the time we get back up there it will have been more than 6 hours since he was shot. Hopefully we'll find him dead not far from where we last saw him. Here's the pics of the two beds I found Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
