Thanks! One thing I did notice while I was putting my one stand out is that there were clumps of deer droppings all over the place. I know they are there. Question is will I see them in bow range?
Chit, didn't even think about that. Last 5 days of the week maybe .25-.3" forecast total vs. .75-1.25" the mext 48 hours.
Doe, fawn, and 4pt at 15yds. Can hear them sniffing for the acorns. 4pt is full velvet. Very tempted. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The doe just got so close I could have poked her with my arrow. Just bounded off when she saw me. Hasn’t started blowing… yet. My legs are cramped so bad I have to adjust soon. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
That 4pt got to 5yds saw me and just sniffed and sniffed then walked away… what is going on. The entire area should be cleared out by blowing deer by now. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I would love to. The only reason I get to hunt here is because the farmer that owns the land goes to a Church in Farmington, KY where my brother preached. The farmer told my brother to hunt his land and my brother asked if I could hunt here also and they said yes. Of course, they had already met me. When my brother left and went to Arkansas the farmer said that I could keep hunting. It pays to respect the land someone lets you hunt on. I would imagine if I asked they would probably agree to let me bring someone since they know I need help tracking from time to time, but I'm hesitant to ask them. They offered to let me bring my son who is Air Force EOD, but I'm not sure how they would react if I asked to bring a stranger. I can understand that. Still, it would be awesome to be able to share these plentiful, stupid deer with someone on the forums.
Everything you just explained is Tottaly understandable to me Chief! I can hunt MANY different properties but know enuff to know the ones that would let me take others and some that would take offense. And I forgot about your color vision. That too I can understand. Maybe think about getting a small dog that you could train n help track?
Once the wind died my thermals started going down. Was game over when a doe/fawn hit that stream. I’m back at the truck since they wouldn’t stop blowing at me. Great first sit. Might stick to this piece for another day or so. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
If your hunting there 2 weeks from today...find yourself tracking still around midnight-ish...happy to help. Otherwise I'll make my usual stop in Paducah for coffee...headed back the other way the following week..sometime TBD.
We saw a giant on some oaks when we were leaving. Know the plan for tomorrow already. Pushing 150”+ Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Johnny, your heart is not in it but mine would struggle too with rain and temps in the 80s Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm awake and sipping coffee. Last night I went to bed at 9:00 and I set my alarm for 4:00. I don't need to leave until 5:00. That should put me on stand about a half hour before first light. I hadn't been up 10 minutes when I heard rain on the roof of the travel trailer. What?!!! It wasn't supposed to rain this morning! This is really bad because when I set my stand up yesterday I went ahead and set my Ozonics up AND I set it up upside down the way I use it. All I can do is hope this little shower is here and not there or that the leaf canopy of the white oak my stand is in shields it.
