Dang just had 4 doe come in. Caught me off guard and 1 off them spotted me drawing. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
6 or 7 does and fawns came in directly downwind. Didn’t bust me or anything but didn’t come to the corn which I think is odd. They were 30 or so yards. Maybe just uneasy and kept walking through. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hard to believe my rutcation is just 9 days away. With the big change at work hunting will be somewhat limited compared to years past when I averaged 6-7 days of work the entire month of November. I'll have to keep reminding myself ths goal is deer in the freezer. Don't pass a doe opportunity unless a legal buck is visible. I cannot hunt public like I did my Uncle's place knowing if I waited it out long enough I would see a good one. Not sure how this rain is going to effect the harvest, hopefully most if it was already out, although I've noticed in years past they tended to cut late, not sure if intentional due to archery season or just happenstance.
Lot of deer in the field. No shooters yet. I can also see deer in the cut beans on the north side now. Hope I get a few more sits here before he tills it under. Usually real quick to do that. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Hoping tomorrow am and all day Thurs and Fri. I bet the hunting pressure ramps this weekend on the public so I want to take some aggressive shots during the week. Thurs I finally have an east wind at the right time for one of my spots.
2 1/2 year old 8 just about in chase mode. Chased this doe probably 200yds down this field. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
I hear ya on the pressure ramping up. Been debating within whether I should arrive 2 hours before legal just to try to be the 1st vehicle in parking, or go like normal and be the one discouraged there's already vehicle(s) at the parking. Wish there was a common courtesy thing on public land, like putting a note on your dash stating which direction you went in. Sucks wanting to hunt east side of the road and 2 or 3 cars parked so you head elsewhere not knowing they were all on the west side.
That was it for me, no bucks. Nothing was screaming big buck sign, but still had a good time. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Easily the most deer I’ve ever seen in a sit. Just the spike and 8pt for bucks. The does and fawns just kept coming. A little piece of me died getting out of the stand and busting all of them out of there. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
The down side of hunting a crop field. They will all be back there tomorrow also. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
I didn't say anything, but it my birthday today. I always take off part of the day to hunt every year and don't think I have ever killed on this day. So decided to have a beer after a great day. And if anyone want to join in this evening, Cheers to my fellow bowhunters! Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Sooo... If I complain in the woods and have no signal to post it, will it still work? I'm likely to have zero internet while on stand, some places especially higher terrain I can still get signal at times but still weak. At my uncles I would switch stands sometimes just for a signal. An all day sit without a phone is going to be a challenge honestly. The phine helps keep me from fidgeting and shifting, get to reading or posting and I forget about boredome but still remain aware and alert.
Is this like if a tree falls in the woods and no one is around, does it make a sound thing? Haha Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
The rain here should end somewhere around 11:00 pm tonight and the temps are going to drop. It's supposed to be down to 44 tomorrow morning, so I'm going to get on stand in the morning and try to kill another doe. I may be able to get three more sits in before I have to start prepping and loading for the public land hunting camp. My son gets here Saturday and he and I will head to camp Monday morning. @S.McArthur and @Ridgerunner3 will be there during the first week. @cantexian will be there the second week, and the entire two weeks I can only shoot does since I've already killed a buck in Missouri. Gun season opens on the 12th and then I can target bucks again.
