Ducks unlimited banquet tonight so no hunting for me. I hope you all throw down some red carpets in the woods tonight!
Hunting a stand for first time ever. I brought my cousin along tonight. I'd love for him to shoot something tonight. Thanks for checking in today - glad you're all here.
I’m in the stand. Have the right winds for this sit tonight and tons of traffic over the last week. Got a really nice buck that has showed up and it would be a blessing to kill something like him!
All set up, went for a walk with the wife that went longer than I was expecting, so I didn’t get to scout my way in like I wanted to. Also extremely crunchy up here this afternoon. Sitting at a 3 way intersection of logging trails where my dad saw 4 this morning, one was a basket 6. He also shot at a doe right here last night with the muzzleloader and I bumped one up wind of me right when I got to the area… set up is not the best, don’t have a ton of shooting lanes infront of me so I will have to be patient… good shooting to my right and left though.
Just got home… recliner stand for the next hour or so…. New stand in the morning Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Had my fingertips resting on the rail of my climber. A gust of wind dislodged a bunch of acorns and one of those big white oak ones nailed my left pinky fingernail. If these things don’t stop dropping soon I’ve got to find a different tree to climb. I’m getting kind of tired of having to duck and cover every time the wind blows.
Staring at the tree I should be in… going to sit tight since it’s the last hour, hope this doesn’t bite me in the ass
Been setup for about an hour service is bad at the wma close to my house got a nice scrape in front of me we’ll see what happens good luck everyone Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Thanks Joe. I appreciate the camaraderie and sincere positive vibes of this group. This is my 5th season hunting here. There was way too many does here when I started. I've killed over 20 does here. The farmer loves that. I haven't shot a buck yet here. I have really come to appreciate the opportunity to hunt here and come to LOVE shooting does. I eat a lot of venison. A 1.5 yo doe is quite possibly the best table fare. The buck to doe ratio is balancing out. For now I'm enjoying the process - tranquility in the woods, communion among friends, and learning how to take high quality shots on deer - it ain't easy and practice makes me better. I pray you all have a great season. I was going to dislike one of LC's post, to get him back...but I CANNOT! Seems like his admin privileges allow him to dish out dislikes, but not receive them. Shady.
