I've never had a problem with it putting my feet to sleep. What I have had happen is this: I've tried to use it with the platform too low. Pressure that long at that spot on your thighs will screw with proper circulation. If I sat with the strap digging into my thighs for a good bit and then stood up I'd get dizzy. Sometimes so dizzy I thought I was going to pass out. I've posted about it before. It just took me a while to figure out that I was the one making it happen. Make SURE it's adjusted properly and avoid that. The footrest should be a big help. Maybe I should get one or two, but I like to keep mine as light as possible with fewer moving parts. I've only shot from my climbers in a sitting position three times in all the years I've used them. When I was younger I'd spend most of my time standing just to be ready. Now I usually stand the first and last hour of light and then stand when I know something is coming. Sometimes you're just going to have to try to stand up with deer in range and not get busted though. As to the squeaking, that's a thing on certain types of trees. This might worry some, but one way to minimize this is to grind a sharper edge on the teeth of the climber. If you look a their side profile they're pretty square. That's where the squeak comes from, and hickory trees are the worst for squeaking. Pecan trees are almost as bad. I haven't done it to mine, but my friends have used a file or a grinder and made that profile less square. Don't make it sharp. Just take the square off. Make it sharp and it'll dig into trees like sweet gum and white oak and you'll have to pull muscles wrenching it free once it bites in. I have two of the padded back supports that were given to me. I don't use them. I've never tried them, but they might work for someone who needs lumbar support. If you want to try it send me your address and I'll send you one.
Thanks for the reminder. I got up a half hour ago, made coffee, logged onto the forums and forgot it.
All set up in MD and ready to rock!!! Muzzleloader season is in so I’ve got the blaze orange on. Walked within 20 yards of a bedded deer and it never got up and took off so there is atleast one in this chunk of woods!!! Set up on the same plot I killed my buck off in September. Good luck out there AM shift!!!
Curious. Do you mount yours upside down? One other thing for others I'll throw out there that I've posted before is if you have one don't turn it on if the thermals are in your favor. Even if the thermals are carrying your scent up and away ozone will go to the ground and the deer will get fidgety when they would have just walked right on in.
Good luck all! Almost rut time! Big boys are falling already around me. I'm working this morning, then hopefully get done in enough time to hunt the evening. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
I'm all set up. There is a doe decoy at 20 yards and a 7 year old asleep on my shoulder. I haven't checked cams in a month, so we're flying blind out here.
No I haven’t turned it upside down. Is there a benefit? Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Turning light enough to see. The duck hunters are blasting the ducks. Wow. @FEB , noticable difference for me. Been using it as I walk in this year also. The one deer I had an issue with when walking in was, she wasn't down wind and she saw me walking into my spot.
All set up and waiting on legal light. It was a challenge getting in here this morning. That early snow the other day brought down several trees onto my walking path. It was a little tough getting around that quietly in the dark. Let's go boys! Sent from my SM-N975U1 using Tapatalk
