I’ve basically only wore them for deer season, pre season scouting, and some shed hunting. Think I’m going on year 3. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Sounds good. The stick-on warmers are what I was referring to, I can't survive in very cold temps without them. I use an insole warmer on the bottom of my foot and a toe warmer on top of my toes. If my feet get cold, I'm done (yes, I'm a wuss). I find that having room for some air space in there makes a huge difference.
Before this boot, I wore rubber boots. Lacrosse Alpha Burlies to be exact. 1800 grams thinsulate, not many issues if any. I could wear 3 layers of socks and toe warmers. With this boot, I think I can stay warm, but I'll br lacking previous knowledge.
I used to start these two in late October. Im picking them up tomorrow. Sue me, im getting older. Maxwell house Max is an underrated high caffeine coffee. Burns slower/no jitters than other ones and its cheap! Two cups and its on!
I'm not going to say anything bad about the pair of Danners that I had. They were great boots that lasted me about 6 years of very regular use during pheasant seasons, very comfortable with rigid soles that stood up to everything I put them through. The only reason I replaced them was they are no longer waterproof. I recently replaced them with a pair of Schnees Timberlines and I can say that these are an incredible pair of boots. I got them this summer in preparation for my Wyoming trip so I'd have time to break them in, which they needed very little of. I put nearly 57 miles of hiking on during that trip and had zero foot fatigue, zero hot spots, zero blisters. I loosened them up a couple times during glassing sessions, but that was mainly because my feet were hot. I'd highly recommend them if you need a pair of boots to do more than sit in a stand. Strangely, however, they are not great to walk on pavement with, I'm not sure what that's all about but some of the weighted pack training I was doing this summer was on a paved state trail that by the end of 4-5 miles, my feet hurt a little, but when I walked that same distance off the pavement a few days later, no issues at all. I’ve been thinking about getting an insulated container for coffee or water/energy boost packet for when I’m in the stand. I rarely bring my backpack in anymore tho and would have to carry it. Probably wouldn’t be too bad. Intrigued by that Maxwell House Max. Might just get some. I only have a machine that uses the K cups though. You just get the medium roast? Just checked out their website, expensive but they make some serious boots. The insulated pac boots look awesome
33, windy, and rain/snow all night that was supposed to have stopped an hour ago.... Nope,. Looks like mid morning or tonight. Again after the trees ,that need chain saw to remove dropped across trails yesterday. Not risking it.
Heading in nice frosty morning here should be good let’s see if anything shows up good luck everyone Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Looks like, won't hold my breath, Indian summer arrives Saturday for several days. Low 70 day temps, 40's at night.

I’ve been bringing a travel cup for my coffee for the past couple years. Only down sides a bit of movement and many have metal exteriors that can clink. Just make sure it doesn’t leak (lesson learned as a cup leaked all over my extra layers)
I'm in a spot I've never sat in before. I've had a camera here and been getting tons of pics. My bil and I hung a stand here back in the summer. We used a permanent climbing stick and when I started to climb this morning I remembered that we didn't put the sticks together in the right order. So the steps weren't spaced like they should have been. I literally had to do a pull-up to get in the stand, but I made it. I guess all those days at the gym paid off! Good luck this morning boys.
