You found your afternoon spot. Set up and sit all day, might just catch a buck looking for a midday snack.
I will be in there on Friday afternoon. Has a good West wind but it's a little bit warmer. No matter that's where I'll be.
Couldn’t check in with the spotty service, two doe from the stand and another big body just before shooting light about 50yds out. Got down around 10:30 and scouted around with stand on back. Found some great sign, there’s a strip of trees separating corn and crp about 20yds wide with trails all through it. Found a bunch of rubs and some real big ones. Also found a big bed there, I hung a stand and going to be back out tom am early.
Didn’t see a thing this morning besides the 6 I saw in the dark on the way in, they were down at the base of the hill, I also bumped one bedded in the same area on the way out. Going to set up there on Friday I think!
I’m all settled in for this evening feel like a idiot we got off work early had planned on coming in moving my stand I hung Sunday morning to a little better tree got 90% to it realized I left my bottom stick in the truck behind the seat so instead of going back out to get it I’ll just try this stand watching a scrape they’ve been hitting a little Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
Going to leave here around 3. Going to move 2 cameras and set up 2 mock scrapes on the north end before I head to the stand. Haven't stepped foot on that side in probably a week and a half. Time to get in there to see what kind of buck sign I'm working with.
I'm up. Back on some familiar grounds for this evening. Check a drainage with a small creek going down it. Found many fresh scrapes probably from this morning. Set up on a cluster of them. Known bedding just 50 yards and another 100 yards away. Found some faint buck trails working this bottom, thing someone is home! Good luck my fellow bowhunters Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk
Good luck tonight guys. I'll be in tonight because I finished up a few minutes ago.and eating "lunch" After this morning's snorting , BTW walked in cut grass no leaves past the deer that snorted at me a couple hundred feet after I walked right past them. I grabbed the back pack blower at 11:30. I managed to get half the property done up and down our hill SEVERAL times with that 30# blower. I went past every single stand and blind, had to make detour trails due to trails blocked last night by trees. I can now relax, well until I do the other half. . I can go in even with falling leaves quiet because today's snow then rain will tap down what I blew away and quiet what's falling, beside clear the smell from exaulst. I opened up a ton of covered browse I know from years past the deer use on the trails when things get cold. Good thing because zero nuts of any kind except the chestnuts. Not even the hazel or beech produced this year. Add apples and most other fruit to that list and things will be tough going into winter. If nothing else I lost some more weight today I'm sure.
