Good luck AM shift! I chose rest instead of going out. Of course, seeing how beautiful of a morning it is with heavy frost has me saying, "DAMMIT!" I know I made the right call, though its not the fun call, lol!

I had five does/fawns walk by out of range a few minutes ago. Squirrels are out in force this morning.

14 turkey filed by out of range and went down into pond area. Tryed everything but they were on a mission. Not the ones I was talking to earlier these came in from sanctuary above me.

Well turkey have moved off, the snow is clearly showing winds are still psychotic for deer hunting. Headed home because we have yet to turn on furnace and I've kept the house warm cooking. Besides whole lot of roasted squash for freezer I've put up a bunch of seasoned roasted pumpkin and squash seeds. Coldest Oct I've hunted in years.

Of course… I’ve had deer all around me my first two sits of the year and not a single deer came close to picking me off.

This b I t c h walks in this morning sniffs the ground I walked in on - looks right up at me and loses her God damn mind. Unreal.

I just checked the wind and she was directly down wind at 15 yards I thought I had a little more of an advantage on her than I really did. She was on me.

pulled card under new hang on....it got a few of the morning turkey, and only one 5:20a.m. doe standing under stand looking straight up in the dark.
I have not hunted there in days AND never got busted out of it. What high hunter density and pressured deer do.....Whopping 58 in house let the cooking commence...LOL..BTW we are prepaid, filled up and always have credit at the end of season. Furnace will go on tonight!

You know sitting in the freezing cold hours and days makes a man crazy right?

When those does came by this is what I thought.

It sits up on this old Levee and it's a massive tree. I walked over there and checked it out and there's feed sign 20 yd all the way around that tree. I bet you if I can get there in the afternoon and sit that they'll come in there... maybe a buck even before dark.

Could be the feed tree. Is there a ton of scat there? Like an obscene amount? Just curious...

Lots of c*** from not only deer but it appears to be foxes and all kinds of animals right in that area.
