I have no idea. I'd love to return next week for the new moon, but that's the week before I head to my Missouri camp. It'll be sometime during the rut.
Dude, I’m drinking beers at Applebees solo, no wife, kid. I’m considering bailing tom am hahaha. Don’t blow your load too soon. Rest up, best is yet to come.
Right now I really wish my thermal imager was the model that took pics. I just stepped outside and looked at the picked corn field with it. I counted 22 deer out there munching on corn.
We’ll just got halfway done with the second coat of drywall… we just did the corner bead tonight so we have to let that dry before we finish… I’ll be in a tree tomorrow for a quick sit before work!
It depends on how much drive you have in you Joe, and I know you have no shortage of that. Personally, I wouldn't be pushing that hard this early in the season, but the time for that kind of effort is rapidly approaching. Actually, I'm not sure I (meaning me personally) would be pushing THAT hard during the peak of the rut. I still have a lot of drive and spend a lot of time in the stand, but I'm no longer young enough for that kind of activity.
nothing for me tonight - wind was better than expected. I did see a nice buck running about 380 yards away but no idea why he was running and i didnt get a great look at antlers. All i know is i could see they were antlers from a long ways out lol
So here's a little back story on the buck. So I was hunting over those scrapes I posted earlier and I had a small buck come in and he kept looking back in the other direction, the wind was perfect and I thought to myself this is probably gonna be the only deer I see tonight being my 1st time in this area. To my surprise a larger body buck had come in quietly and began to Chase the smaller buck off, at this time I began to get ready to shoot but before I could he had chased the other buck out of sight. I grabbed my grunt call and gave 2 quick grunts. I heard them stop and he immediately began to come straight back to me and on his way to me he started tearing up all the trees that touched him as he made his way towards me. Within a matter of seconds he was back in front of me tearing up the scrapes that I had previously posted about. I made a clean shot at about 18 yds. Happened fast. Great hunt. One for the books. Thanks for all the Congrats guys. I appreciate this community we have here at bowhunting.com Sent from my SM-G990U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
