Bunch of scrapes on this deer trail 15 yards from this old wooden ladder. First time hunting this spot. Let's see what happens! Sent from my SM-G990U using Bowhunting.com Forums mobile app
I’m up again, same place as last evening. I got here about an hour earlier than yesterday because of what the trail cams were telling me. Thought I was going to make it in clean until about 20 yds from the stand I saw a couple deer to my left in the woods running away… the good thing is that they really couldn’t see me or smell me so the probably just caught some movement and had had enough. Good chance they will come back later and check it out. Good luck everyone
Actually only for a day or two. I do it before the rut and the deer actually use the trails. Before the leaf blower years ago, would use the Dr trimmer. I had a huge 12 pt step out on the trail and walk ahead of me as I mowed This is a high pressure area so deer do not like hearing movement and do know the difference unless equipment is being used. BTW learned long ago being sneaky in leaves in the dark..alerts them more. I'll shuffle like a skunk or raccoon then stop...shuffle and stop. Skipping actually works too. Long strides and stops and shaking limps...doing and occasional bleat or grunt. My main reason I started clearing was safety after my accidents and knee tears. I just got use to the quiet walk in and being able to get very close to deer and Turkey. This year I wanted to avoid it to see if more deer would be in the area but the noise is driving me mad This devise is demonic I swear
Raining and windy so I thought I would sneak through the standing corn to a hidden spot. Came face to face with a big 8. 5 rows apart and he couldn’t figure me out. No arrow nocked so I lost the stare down. He didn’t blow so I’m hoping I can catch him another time. Basically finishing my hunt in the corn looking for a tree to climb later.
2 spikes and a 3pt came right under me. They are not happy with one another. Really caught me off guard where they came from and how quick they were under my tree. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
