No, they never got downwind. The wind was out of the NW and they were west of me. And yeah, if they'd closed the distance to 40 or 45 yards I'd have shot. I was trembling when I first saw them but after 20 minutes of watching them I was stone cold calm and so was he.
Are they still good when they turn brown or just eat when green. Ill have to try them. Wonder if theyre good with ranch dressing haha!
Have you ever eaten a soybean before they get dry enough to harvest? That's what they taste like. If I get them on me I'll sit on stand eating them like sunflower seeds. They're just as good when they're brown. Maybe even better.
I assume the redline is a property boundary and you do not have permission on that side? Otherwise, you could just move further south to where the tip of triangle where it meets the east-west treeline?
Came home from coaching my older boys’ football practice and found that my youngest had a surprise for me. He knows deer like to eat acorns so he had filled a sandwich baggie full of acorns from the neighbor’s yard for me to take the next time I go hunting. He told me it was to help get the deer closer.
Just got done with supper. 2 fresh tenderloins, 4 eggs and crispy hashbrowns with a red bellpepper mixed in.. I can't even finish my beer. G_night all.
Going to be cold and windy ,supposedly out of the south.....hmm a southern cold front.. I will attempt to avoid that by going down the hill and then walking into it, to the center. north /east of a bedding area and small clover plot. I have not hunted this area this year. The hill blocks that wind fairly well, deer and turkey know this.. it also has "safer"trees to walk through.
I would take that over the freaking wind we are having! I have 2-2.5 foot diameter trees whipping. Might get "sea sick" were i dumb enough to be out.
