I just pulled out of there. My buddy still tracking i had a family event i couldnt miss. If i can make it back out there with daylight i will go back out. If not ive already told my boss i wont be into work. We went in with the intention of backing out as soon as something told us to. We followed blood for a good couple hundred yards. It was pretty consistent and fairly bright. Some bubbles here and there. Once he hit the creek he walked it a ways which is where we lost blood. After walking the banks on both sides it seemed we were stuck so we went back to last blood and we started walking through shin deep water looking for anything that stood out. There was a small spot where it was shallow Nd a twig was sticking up with a drop of blood on it from there we combed the steep creekbanks and found what was fresh hoof prints dug in and blood on the dirt wall. At the top was about a dollar bill size rectangle of good bright blood. We kept on and it is down to quarter to half dollar drops every few feet with grass and trees being brushed on as well. Didnt find a bed yet. Hopefully my buddy Andy finds him if not ill be back after him and may call a dog
Pulling for ya man! Not sure what part of IL your in but I have a guide turned friend with a good dog, by Nebo,IL
Well, it's 3:00 pm. I want to be back on stand by 4:00, so I guess I'd better get a shower and get ready. I thought about going back to the "T" woods this afternoon but that's pushing it. Like I said, I walked all over it looking for the doe, but I don't think I jumped anything. They'll probably smell where I walked, but as I've said many times, these deer aren't the brightest animals on the planet. Still, I'm going to give that patch of woods a break and go to where I saw all the does Friday afternoon. I have room in my coolers for two more deer. If a doe comes in I'll shoot and then I'll shift to buck hunting for a couple of days. I really want to be here when the temps drop into the 20's.
Heading back to the property where I doubled up so likely I will not have any signal. Good luck guys! I will update after dark if anything happens. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I'm in for the first sit of the year. I'm in a blind on one of our food plots just below a steep ridge.
Not sure if I'd shoot a doe tonight, not on the farm where I like to shoot does. If one gives me a good shot....hmmm...tough to tell! Good luck ya'll!
Jerk! Your lucky I'm on tapatalk or I would have gave you a dislike. Sent from my SM-S901U using Tapatalk

Just got up a tree here at the house. This stand is set up perfect small food plot with thick woods on 3 sides and big hardwoods on the other only 100yds from the house and I will shoot a doe if I get a chance.
