5 hours after, I would definitely be picking up the trail. Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
No expert here but if possible single lung I would come back out after family thing. Maybe by that time you can get a hold of neighbor as well. Hopefully he beds down and dies. How far would you say you tracked so far?
Only went in about 50yds when i backed out. I have a buddy with me, landowner has been contacted, we are going to blood and making decision at the blood on what to do
Option A … right call! If he was single lung, be ready for a follow up shot Sent from my iPhone using Bowhunting.com Forums
I’m really beginning to love this thing the older I get. This is the first trip where I’ve used it for everything: Gutting, loading, skinning and quartering.
Also, it’s a miracle I found her. Below is my stand. The first doe marker is where she was when I shot. The second doe marker is where I found her. No-one could show up to help until after 1:00 so I looked all over the woods with my thermal imager with no luck. I finally resigned myself to having to wait. I thought I would drive through the field to see if she died out there. Nothing. Then it occurred to me to drive the fence row to the south and look at the field to the south also. I couldn’t believe it when I drove right up to her.
